UPDATE 11/27/2011: Sorry for the lack of updates. The manufacturer informed me a couple weeks ago that he sent a new version of the cable to my house to try out but I've been on the road 2 months and haven't had a chance to try it. Judging by the comment posted below by "Jimmy", the problem has finally been solved, as I was pretty sure it would be given the manufacturer told me it was an entirely new design. I would like to point out given the length of time since I posted this review, and how well the manufacturer handled this situation despite that fact, that I now consider this a 5 star product and will certainly consider any other products released by him in the future.
UPDATE 10/23/2011: Manufacturer has stayed in contact, has informed me that the 2.0 cable should be released soon to alleviate those of us with charge-rate issues. Without making excuses, he insists that he cannot duplicate this issue on his tablet, and has many customers which have not indicated any issues. For whatever reason, it appears the problem may be isolated to a certain batch of tablets or something. Those of you who have indicated you have the issue, I encourage you to contact the manufacturer in a few weeks and see if you can get your cable swapped for the 2.0 version which is supposed to be a heavier gauge wire.
UPDATE 10/5/2011: Manufacturer is typically very responsive to emails, he and I have been trying to resolve the issue with charging. I have tried a second cable he sent, which exhibits the same problem. At the time I wrote the review I was on the only person reporting the issue, but I see now several others have had the problem too, ruling out that it's just a fluke with my particular device. The manufacturer has recently informed me that he is working on a second generation of the cable that should solve the problem so I would encourage anyone with the "low charge rate" problem to contact him in the hopes that he can help you resolve the issue. For now, I am just waiting. My tablet is at Samsung for the "Newton's rings" issue anyway, so I am in no rush for a solution.
UPDATE 8/30/11: Manufacturer working with me to figure out what's wrong, review on hold for now.
ORIGINAL REVIEW: I really thought this was the answer to the ridiculously short cord provided by Samsung, however, the Samsung cord charges at >1400mA whereas this thing barely breaks 500mA. Which means, it still discharges if you're actually using it with this cord, making it basically useless. Even with the Tablet on standby, it will take about 15 hours to charge with this cable. This is using the stock Samsung power brick/wallrat with both cables.
This one works just as well, it's not incredibly long, but long enough I don't have to get creative about charging my Tab or syncing with my laptop. This is practical and worth the money. Just go ahead and get it. It works, and it's the right size.
It doesn't have a logo on it, but there's a little triangle etched into the top so you can tell which side is up. Unfortunately, it's not easy to see or feel, so I need to (haven't yet) put a gold star or something on it. That's why I dinged it a star, but it's an easy fix. I recommend it.
My cable did not arrive with The "Juiced" label shown in the photo, though it carried (and carries) that description on Amazon's site. It is not worth my trouble to return but I do wish someone (Samsung?) would offer a reliably working data/charge cable of useable length. (The factory supplied cable is very short). The slow charge problem was observed with both a Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 and Galaxy Note 10.1. Clearly this cable does not duplicate the configuration of the factory cables and is delivering only a fraction as much current. Data transfer is fine. One star as charging is a fundamental purpose of the cable as offered. My order was placed via Amazon to a vendor that I notice is no longer listed for this product.
