There is nary a reference to scientific evidence (e.g., USDA nutrition recommendations) to back the claims, but then again, I don't think there is any book on the market that does that. Other books suggest certain juices for certain medical conditions - but again, not sure where the evidence is to support these suggestions. To the author's credit, this topic is addressed in this book in the section titled "Does Juicing Really Work?" The more I read, the more I think we don't know. Today's elixir quickly becomes tomorrow's poison in the world of nutrition and health.
I did really appreciate the author's suggestions on which produce to buy organic vs, non-organic. This can save a lot of money especially for the novice juicer who is trying it out.
There are 12 recipes, about as many as you will get in your owner's manual. Some are labeled for weight loss, others for fasting and detox.
If you want to try juicing, I encourage you to do so. Many people have made a lot of positive health claims and provided testimonials. My personal trainer was hounding me to try it. Only you know your body and habits. I am happy that I did. This book can arm you with the basic knowledge to get started and consider if it is right for you, without purchasing a larger book that will sit in that spare guest room near that treadmill and AB roller.

I saw some comments about the grammar, but as I read through the 2nd Edition, I did not notice any glaring errors.
That being said and out of the way, here are my thoughts:
I like juicing and nutrition, but found myself having a few 'why didn't I know that?' moments. I loved the tip about imported grapes, and am definitely going to be more conscious of where my grapes come from.
This is a great book for anyone wanting to know more about juicing, how juicing affects us nutritionally as well as explaining the different types of juicers available to us. As well as what you need to be aware of when purchasing one.
I really liked the recipes and I like that they are set up to not only stand on their own, but be the base for when you want to start creating your own recipes.
Also, having pesticide free fruits, veggies, and greens is important, and this is nicely addressed in the book. I am very happy with it and you should consider getting this for yourself.
This would be a great companion book: Aquaponics Easy And Fast: The Golden Book Of Aquaponics
I found this guide to contain some very good information on juicing and the benefits of using organic fruits and vegetables opposed to their store bought, mass produced, pesticide covered counterparts.
If you have been juicing for any amount of time you may not find anything new here as the book contains information geared toward those looking to get started in juicing, although I liked the section with the different juicing recipes as I am always looking for new ideas and combinations to try.
The price is right and the information is sound and factual, and I would recommend this book if you are considering adding juicing to your lifestyle.
