Rebekah Lyn has a beautiful voice in each of her stories. Her latest, Julianne, is an excellent exploration of the conflict that young professionals experience in contemporary society. They fall into many traps when dating and finding careers. Julianne illustrates how we take many wrong turns in life, but can find our way through love, trust, and spirituality. This Christian romance novel by the author of Summer Storms contains characters that are clearly defined and relevant to the storyline and a plot that is romantic without being sappy. The references to Christianity are not preachy, but instead show the effects of sound decision-making and personal choices that young adults create in their lives, making this novel appealing to all readers, from YA up to older generations of adults.

Julianne thought she loved Gavin, a famous movie director, thought she could never measure up to the success of her big brother Michael, and felt her career was a disaster. Then she met Oliver. He was a handsome young actor, struggling to help a community theater stay afloat. Julianne gets inspired to quit her job and dive into an uncertain career that might not even pay the rent.

Her new career and new relationship with Oliver hit a snag when the love of her life suddenly sees her as a desirable woman. Should she take a chance on the life she always wanted with Gavin? Her career and her future hang in the balance, but which direction will she choose?

This is a wonderful romantic tale about a young woman finding herself. It is a clean read without scenes that make readers blush and contains insight into faith. Julianne must learn to have faith in herself. Oliver's faith makes her nervous. She learns secrets about the men in her life that make her question her own choices. It's a good read that makes you think.

Rebekah Lyn, author of Storm Storms, doesn't disappoint with her newest book, Julianne. Rebekah's paragraphs are filled with descriptive scenes, interesting characters, and a solid faith that shines through her pages from beginning to end. The novel invites the reader to visit the world of theater...weaving the trials of running a community playhouse with the daily lives of honest, believable characters. Julianne is inspired by the local playhouse theater and its passion to survive economic times and low attendance. She throws herself into a master plan to save the jewel of the art community, The Garner House. Will she be successful?

Like a playwright herself, the author builds her main characters Oliver, Cameron, Gavin, and big brother Michael into a fast-paced, delightful story of relationships, pain and happiness. God's plan for Julianne becomes center stage and her friends become the actors in this story of life. A side story of romance will keep you wondering if Julianne finds her soul-mate...who will be holding her hand at the end of the book, as the curtain rises at The Garner House? Enjoy!

"Julianne" is a Christian fiction romance novel written by Rebekah Lyn.
In this novel we get to follow Julianne Finnegan down her path from a frustrated telemarketer at Summerville Resorts to a successful entertainment publicist at Garner House. She met Oliver Nordstrom by chance when taking a leisurely stroll through the park. He introduced her to Cameron Wellington who ran Garner House - a rundown community theater. Julianne was educated and had dreamed of being a public relations director for the entertainment industry. Meeting Cameron led to a dream come true. She had a crush, since childhood, on her brother's friend Gavin Weston, who only saw her as a "little sis" until he read her proposal for Garner House. This is when he finally saw her as an intelligent, beautiful young lady. Also on her journey, Julianne met Peter Raphael who was enthralled with the fact that she actually saw what he meant to portray in his paintings. Julianne fell in love with one of these men, but you will have to read Rebekah Lyn's book to see which!
Believe me, it will be worth the read!
I highly recommend this book!

Julianne is a very interesting book about a girl trying to find her way in life. She is from a well-to-do family and struggles to find her purpose/passion in life. A chance meeting with a guy leads her on an adventure to not only save a struggling theater but also the adventure of self realization. Julianne has had a crush on her brothers best friend for years but finds she also has feelings for another guy. Throughout the book there are some light moments that just make you laugh and there are times you ache for Julianne as she deals with her own inner turmoil.

Very well written book and extremely easy read. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star is because I usually only give book 5 stars if I come back and re-read them over and over again. I don't know that Julianne is a book I would read every year but if I do come back and re-read it several times, I plan on changing my rating to a 5 star.

Julianne is the story of a young woman trying to discover her place in the world, as it pertains to career, love, and God. Overall, I found it charming and well written. There were a few moments when following the point of view disrupted the flow. Also, I found it difficult to place the time period the story was set in, as the characters spoke in a manner that almost seemed more fitting for a historical romance. This confusion was cleared up when a character used a cell phone, yet the language style remained less modern. I did come to care about the characters, and was somewhat invested in the outcome. However, I didn't connect right away, and felt myself wanting them to be less fragile, less vulnerable. The spiritual message was a good one, not overbearing, but pointed. I enjoyed the story, and will most likely read more of Rebekah Lyn's work, but I didn't feel gripped to the point of not being able to put it down. I do think Julianne makes for good lazy-Saturday-afternoon reading.
