That worked great, but there are a few bonuses to getting this one instead. For one thing, I don't have to keep trashing the erasers when I'm done with them, as these have layers that can be taken off and replaced. Also, the eraser's top edge allows me to clean the corner of the board quickly and efficiently. As it comes with a magnetic stand, I was able to put the stand in a place where I could quickly access it while working.
Works well for erasing either large or small areas
Can be put in the magnetic holder on the board
Can rip off pads when it gets dirty
Pads get dirty quickly
Pads can be hard to rip off when you are down to the last 2 or three
Sometimes refills don't stick on very well
You have to really clean the whiteboard more often, because this smears the ink more than cleans it off. I think I had to clean the board about once a week
Overall, I really like these erasers and refills. If you are a teacher looking for a better eraser, try them. They aren't expensive, and they are certainly worth the cost.
The best part of this eraser is the little pointy tip. It gets into nooks and crannies with precision, so I can erase around problems and work, and leave things up for other classes if I want to. It's also great that your hands don't get dirty while erasing. When I used the cloth, my hands looked like I'd finger painted by the end of the day, but with this eraser, they are (almost) clean enough to eat with.
I really like this eraser, and I will probably continue to use these in future years.
My reason for a 4 star rating, is because it costs nearly as much as just replacing the entire eraser itself, so it doesn't make it less expensive to really purchase this, over just replacing the whole eraser itself. Another reason for giving it 4 stars, is because we found that it can be tricky to pull off just the one layer. You have to get a hold of it just right, or you get more than one layer, or you get the one layer, and fray the end of the rest of the eraser. I am not sure how to correct this problem, but I feel confident those that make these would be able to come up with a fix for the problem.
