“My friend, Steve Harvey, has an amazing gift to inspire, encourage and motivate people toward their dreams. In his new book, Jump, he’ll show you through his own experiences, how to discover your gifts, envision your dreams and take the steps to become all you were created to be. He’s impacted my life, and I know Jump will impact yours.” (Joel Osteen, Pastor and New York Times Bestselling Author)
This is the principle that spectators could never see from the grandstand of playing it safe! When in fact, anyone who’s ever done anything monumental in their lives knows, that sooner or later one has to stand on the brink of peril and promise. It is what one does on the precipice of opportunity that determines the outcome.
Steve Harvey shares with us what makes some ‘Jump’ while others turn sadly away only to eulogize the opportunity and bemoan the circumstances that discouraged them from action. Steve Harvey has done the leaping right before our eyes. Now he is committed to sharing the principles and preparations that he and others used to override their fears and surge into their unique destiny!
Your first JUMP is to read his book! It will make the next JUMP so much easier! (Bishop T.D. Jakes, #1 New York Times Bestselling Author)
From the Back Cover
“You need to JUMP as though your life depended on it. Because it does.”—Steve Harvey
Steve Harvey knows intimately what it’s like to face seemingly overwhelming odds. He flunked out of college. He was fired from his job. He was homeless and lived in his car. At one point he owed the IRS millions. In his most inspiring book to date, the number one New York Times bestselling author reveals how he not only survived these trials, but thrived despite them: he took a jump—a leap of faith—and has become one of the most popular, and most successful, entertainers on the planet.
Steve first introduced the concept of Jump at the close of a taping of his syndicated hit show Family Feud. Talking to the studio audience as only he can, the Emmy Award—winning host spontaneously delivered passionate advice on the secrets of his success. The video would immediately go viral and be seen by 58 million viewers (and counting) worldwide.
In this mesmerizing read, Steve builds on that invaluable advice. In Jump, he explores some vulnerable seasons in his life to use these unfortunate moments—among them, leaving a stable job to pursue his dream of being on television; starting a boys’ mentoring camp, without any support; and revealing, for the first time, the behind-the-scenes mishap of the Miss Universe pageant—to explain his core principles to teach you what it means to jump. Straightforward and profound, these principles include identifying the lessons and blessings in life; utilizing the practice of stillness; putting past mistakes in your rear-view mirror; trusting in God; and taking full responsibility, especially in difficult situations.
At the heart of this life-changing work is faith—having the confidence to know that taking your own leap will elevate your life. Jump is Steve’s testimony of what God has done in his life. Take a jump toward the rich life of blessings that God has planned for you.

4 stars, definitely. I can understand why some readers may feel otherwise. In this book, he is speaking to his audience or rather an audience already familiar with his talk show, videos, and books. So, if this is your first book for him and you're looking for step by step instructions, this isn't the book for you. You need to start with his book "Act like an success, think like an success".
But it's still a good read, Steve shares personal examples you can learn from. You're going to wish sometimes there was a little organization to the history of his example, but sometimes different messages calls for different examples. Keep reading and you'll find the gems of knowledge. I advise buying.
