In this story in particular, my being a fan and having experienced Supercross life, I loved that and it was so relatable for me. Coupling that with my being from California, I felt very much at home.
The friendship factor warmed my heart and the steam factor was an undeniable spark. I enjoy all the books I have read by Riley Hart and this is another one I can add in completing this series.
The previous series was done on audiobook, check them out, the whole series.
Beckett has been losing his drive and excitement for the sport he loves and is in need of a break. Chris has been successful, but he never really got over the loss of Beck. Sometimes achieving your dreams does not mean as much without someone to share it with. And once they are in contact again it is apparent how much they truly missed each other. But these men lead different lives and do have some issues to deal with and overcome. It is about a true connection, friendship, healing, and priorities.
(Quote) Whatever it is that you love, eventually you need more. That doesn’t mean you don’t love it. It just means you’re ready to let yourself love more than just that thing.
Fans of this series will enjoy this short novella. Due to its length it is not quite as developed as the full stories, but Riley Hart is able to deliver likable, believable characters with depth, build strong relationships, and easily immerse you in their story.
I loved that it brings back all of our friends from this series: Landon and Rod, Nick and Bryce, and Justin and Drew. I adore all of these guys and how they include new people in their supportive and fun group.
(Quote)“Damn. I didn’t realize there were this many out, gay or bi men in Small Town, Virginia.” Landon let out a stiff breath. “You can say that again. I guess we’re just lucky. We don’t let anyone steal our sparkle here.”
We are also introduced to Christian's quirky California roommate, Quinn, and I could see him inspiring his own story in this series.
When they were eighteen, Beckett let Christian down in the worst way when he turned his back on him breaking his heart in the process. They haven't spoken in ten years because of it. But when Beckett's life starts to spiral, he gives in and calls Christian, not really having a plan as to why.
Christian has loved Beckett his entire life, though the last ten years he would have denied that. When Beck calls him he knows something is wrong and all he wants to do is fix things for him like he did their entire lives.
I wasn't sure how I felt about how quick forgiveness was given for what Beck did, but I hold a mean grudge. It worked in their story, they never stopped being the others soul mate, even through the hurt.
It was good to see the other guys and the banter between them.
And hello, a cameo for Riley's very own Dom!!

My only complaint is i would have liked this to be longer. It would have been great to see more of them in childhood but still this book made me wicked smile.
Great characters destined for one another. A stupid decision by Beck kept them apart for 10 years but when he finally realised and gave in to his feelings, stopped hiding who he was he more than made up for it! Chris gave his heart freely and thankfully it didn't take much for forgiveness to override his hurt. So bloody sweet.
Loved everything about both of them and even though its a short story you instantly felt their connection. They'd been in love forever! Huge swoon!
Great novella, fantastic story, lots of love, incredible feels, and just pure happiness about this series. Loved all the characters and their stories and this just completed it perfectly!
A must read!
The ending was...a bit odd. it was sweet and everything and the epilogue rounded everything up beautifully but it felt like it was a bit 'and-they-lived-happily-ever-after-the-end'
It didn't take anything and way from the story but it felt a little strange to me.
Beckett and Christian's connection was so intense I could feel it from page 1
I loved following beck and Chris's journey it felt like I was there with them
JumpStart had me on the edge of my seat it was emotional I laughed and cried a little too it was perfect
It was also nice to see the rest of the guys from the previous books I love them all
Thank you Riley hart for another beautiful story
