7/31/15 Update: I noticed this was on sale for $6.49, limit 4 cans. I immediately bought what was allowed. Shortly after the price went back up. A few weeks later, back down - bought 4 more cans. This goes on sale for about $6.50 a couple times a year at Joann's. But by watching the price here on Amazon I can keep buying more almost whenever needed! Add this to your Wish List, watch the price, don't pay more than $6.50!

Been reading other reviews and am rather surprised. I have used this for years and I love it! I have not had a problem with it gumming up my needle or allowing thread through. (And regardless of spray or materials, I always test my thread tension before starting on a project.) I make about a dozen quilts a year of varying sizes from wall hangings to king sized quilts. I rely on this spray to hold my quilt sandwich in place for a smooth finished product. About half my quilts are for competition and I get comments from the judges about my smooth backing with no ripples. The blue ribbons speak for themselves! I recommend watching for sales on various websites, though. When I find a good price I stock up.

this is the worst product I have every used. I have never used June taylor products before, & if this is an example of their quality, will not do so in the future. I have never had difficulty w/ a basting spray before, but in spite of being shaken almost constantly during application, it continously came out in clumps like silly string, & for the last half of a twin sized quilt so much was coming out under & around the cap that my hand was stuck to the bottle. I had to use goof off to get it off of my hands. Absolutely not acceptable. I am not looking forward to trying to quilt through those gobs.

Why change what worked so well! Yes it is nice that the heavy chemical smell is gone but not at the expense of function. Sticky, messy, leave a residue on the needle and my quilting gloves also. Change it back June Tailor! Gotta look for the Dritz now.

this is great for quilting! this is probably my 6th can and I just don't want to be without it. I have arthritis and it is extremely hard to pin especially when you are doing king or queen quilts. I like that it is adjustable. if you get a wrinkle you can just pull it up and smooth it back out. use sparingly it goes a long way. I work in sections on my quilts and this seems to work much better than just spraying the whole quilt all at one time.

I was trying to save some money and not use my expensive Hobbs Fusible batting for a medium size wall quilt. I bought this and thank goodness only sprayed it lightly on the batting. I had no trouble with spraying it like other reviews, but when I tried to machine quilt it, I can't get more then 5 inches without it busting the thread. Then it gums up the needle, and I have to stop and clean that too. This quilt was for sale, but with all the stops and starts, I can't sell it now. When you work hard on something and have to rely on a product to do it's job, and it ruins your whole project, and you're stuck having to trash the quilt, or finish it at a lower quality then you find acceptable, it is extremely upsetting.
Don't bother purchasing this spray, it is horrible.

I am a first time buyer of this adhesive. I am amazed with this product. I am putting an X in the center of each 3 layer square to hold everything together - I lightly sprayed the top and bottom of the batting. I had no gumming with this product. My squares look amazing and it was easier and faster sewing. I guess my biggest complaint was my hand was very sticky afterwards - I found rubbing almond oil into my hand got it off. Nail polish remover didn't do it.

I've used this brand of basting spray with good results, so this is a purchase of a tried and true product for me. It does not gum up my needle or thread. It holds the layers together well and stays together while I am free-motion quilting on my regular sewing machine. Any overspray that makes it to my wood floor makes my shoes squeak for about a day, and then no more. I usually put newspaper down wherever I suspect I may overspray, but it isn't a big production. I can't detect any residue in the quilt after I have laundered the finished product. I prefer this spray over pinning because it save time and I don't wear out my fingers. Oh - and I find that I can lift a layer and reposition it if I think something is not exactly straight. I haven't tried to do that any later than at the time I am spray-basting, but I definitely can work with it to get it nice and straight if I don't hit it on my first try.

I will admit that I am new to embroidery. But it was taking me 4 and 5 hours to do a simple applique. So I took my machine and traveled 90 miles to where I bought it to figure out what I was doing wrong. My pride was kinda hoping it was the machine. But it wasn't. This stuff was gumming my needle to the point that the thread was breaking 4 or 5 times sometimes in one 1"X2" letter design. I was seriously considering giving up embroidery all together. So instead, I gave up the spray and rely more on basting down with thread and sticky paper and my life has significantly improved. I may try a different spray. I am just a little scared to right now.
