In an epic adventure directed by Jon Favreau (IRON MAN), Mowgli, a man-cub raised in the jungle by a family of wolves, embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery when he's forced to abandon the only home he's ever known. Featuring an all-star voice cast including Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley and Scarlett Johansson, THE JUNGLE BOOK is "stunning" (Todd McCarthy, The Hollywood Reporter).

But honestly? I thought this movie was great. It was beautiful to watch, the characters felt sincere and real, and the story carries you along effortlessly. I even felt that Mowgli's character was improved upon. In the original version he was quite petulant, often complaining about how unfair it was that he had to move away, despite the threat against his life. But in this version, he understood that his presence put his family in danger, and he was much more willing to step up and make sacrifices for their safety. It was emotionally engaging, and I am definitely happy to have seen it. I think you will be too!
The story was really good, i actually liked it better than the original cartoon.
The extras were good too.
Jon Favreau (Stark Industries "forehead of security" - Iron Man 3) is a great director. If you watch the extras, you will see how he was very hands on with Neel Sethi and how he tried to stay true to the cartoon as much as possible.
This is a must have in any Disney collection, hopefully they will release the Blu-ray 3D soon so i can buy it again ;) or at least a UK version like I had to buy Frozen 3D.
My only real issue with this is the voice acting. It's not B grade or anything but they appear to have gone for very big name actors instead of actors that specialize in interesting voices. Example: Scarlett Johansson. Great actress, but not particularly noted for having an interesting voice. And it really showed. I don't think her voice worked well with the animation, nor was it very interesting. Same thing with Bill Murray. I think his visual acting is what makes him great, not his voice. He was better, but by no means special.
Anyway, good movie and I recommend it.
