Editorial Reviews

Review

"Finally! A demonstration of 'voice' and 'idea' in simple, functional terms. His dissection of writing craft is insightful. Chapters 2 and 3 should be required reading for every junior writer." -- LAUREN RANKE, Director of Creative Recruiting, Wieden+Kennedy - Portland

"Compulsively readable. It feels more like a conversation than a book. The experience of being a junior filtered through Kemeny's recollections." -- DAVID KOLBUSZ, Chief Creative Officer, Droga5 - London

"If my older and wiser brother were an ad book, these would be his exact words. If he'd ask me to wash his filthy car every Sunday in exchange for his wisdom, I'd say 'No problem,' knowing I got the better end of the deal." -- PAUL MALMSTROM, Creative Chairman and Co-Founder, Mother USA

"This book is so f*cking good. Super charming, super smart, super funny. Almost makes me want to work in advertising again." -- JUSTIN GIGNAC, CEO and Co-founder, Working Not Working

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book.
By Write On on September 9, 2021
Excellent read for anyone considering the advertising industry. The first half is relatively specific to copywriting while the second half is more general and touches on the agency world, clients, production, new business pitches and general advice. A quick and easy read with lots of valuable information, clearly based on experience. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars This book teaches you how to write a book like this.
By Bart Cleveland on June 27, 2019
Howard Gossage, move over and make room. Luke Sullivan, you have some company. There is a new muse in town, and he has made me a forever fan. Thank you, Thomas Kemeny. JUNIOR is the book that every creative in advertising should be reading, regardless of their craft. JUNIOR injects passion and craft in all the right places while reminding us why we love what we do. The ad industry will be forever viable if we think like Kemeny. Buy the book. Read it quick, and then keep it nearby for those moments when you start believing there are no more opportunities to do great work. – Bart Cleveland, Founder, Job Propulsion Lab

5.0 out of 5 stars Indulge yourself!
By Angel Burns on January 13, 2020
This book SINGS. It will bring you enlightenment without the pain of a Hero's Journey, because Thomas took it for you. Eat it like jealously-guarded chocolates: fast and alert, then savoring the after-glow of the experience. You will want to revisit for more!
Truth, beauty and a wealth of grins... gift yourself with this wonder.
