This book is filled with practical, easy to understand advice about how our bodies work, how to love them by what we do and what we eat, and how to change our food choices. Brad Lamm builds on his extensive professional and personal experience as an interventionist and applies how to understand and break the cycle of addiction. Many of the core principles in the book also were developed as part of the Just 10 Lbs program advocated by Doctor Oz on his TV show.

Lamm's folksy tone and personal anecdotes give the book a bit more flavor (if you'll excuse the pun) and help give emotional meaning to the real psychology and physiology underlying the principles.

I recommend this book for anyone who wants to change their relationship to food, feel healthier, and remember that it's all about loving ourselves along the way.

Just finished the book - which I didn't purchase at Amazon - and came online to purchase some additional copies for several family members.

If you want a quick fix - lose 50 pounds while still eating everything you love - then it isn't the book for you. Neither is there anything earthshaking about the diet information. Serial dieters who have tried all the major plans have heard it all before.

But, if you have tried them all and failed them all, then this may be the book that changes your life. I say "may" because no, I haven't implemented the steps yet. What the book did do was speak to every food related issue that I have ever experienced and suggest a way to successfully address it.

Food is not my enemy .. how I deal with food is the real problem and for the first time in many years, I have read a diet book that addresses those issues. Now, the work is up to me. I expect that my copy of this book will be read and reread. It is already marked up so that I can review certain passages and I will mark more passages the next time through. I will going back through it with a notebook in hand to do some of the exercises before I fully implement the first step.

Don't feel organized enough to pull all that information together? He includes a "30 day get started" section that helps you put it all together.

He did mention some specific products occasionally, but it was not so instrusive that you would get sick of it. In fact, until I read these reviews, I had no idea Shaklee was involved.

As to spirituality, yes, he did suggest that. He is very inclusive in that section so I would read it before judging it.

I actually picked this one up by accident.

I have been on the "Love-Centered Diet" for 5 days and I am down 7 lbs. Brad is able to relate to the struggle with food in a way I have never come across before. I am thinking that this approach is what I've been searching for to win the battle with my weight.

Brad Lamm does a terrific job helping readers address the underlying issues of their problem eating. In addition to discussing the symptoms (what and how people eat), he delves into the cause of this type of eating. His book centers on overcoming challenges that often prevent a healthy body. For example, he inspires readers to "start a moving meditation" rather that just exercise (this word in itself often evokes resistance). He talks about maintaining loving connections, examining your battleground beliefs, connecting with higher source thinking and paying it forward. "Just 10 lbs" is an easy read, packed with great information.

In plain and simple terms, this book turned a light on inside me. I wanted to read it through before I started eating better and guess what? I couldn't do it! About half way through, I started seeing myself in a whole new way, with love and care. I've been eating better for nine days now am I have already lost 5 lbs. So, technically I am halfway to my goal of Just 10! I am finally done dieting! Never again. Get this book. Read it. And begin to love yourself healthy!

You know, many of us have struggled with a little (or a lot of extra weight). We try fad diets, crazy meal plans, vile tasting concoctions (remember drinking cider vinegar in the 70s?), and worst of all, self-loathing and self-judgments. We cannot just go on a diet, lose weight and go back to the same old ways of eating. That is what got us there in the first place!

Finally, someone has written an easy to read, use and implement diet book. I do not even want to call this book a diet book, as it is so much more! Brad Lamm presents a gentle, loving approach to changing old, deeply ingrained patterns and habits. He offers guidance, affirmations to use as we rework how we talk to ourselves, a daily plan to go by and so much more.

There is no blame here, no YOU MUST in any of it...kindness is the key here...be kind to yourself, understand yourself, and shift the old ways of thinking that have allowed you to gain the weight and kept it on you.

My husband is currently following this book and he is losing weight, feels so much better, and loves the food he has prepared using the recipes. I am using it to keep at my current weight and love it. When old patterns rear their heads and orange halloween mellowcreme candy pumpkins or Twillers aka crack call out to me, I re-read the affirmations and re-read pages 86-87 with the Take 10 tips that have become my "Loving My Body" mantra. I will share that these two pages are worth 10x the cost of the book. The Take 10 are not even weight related, they are some of the best tools I have ever found in LIVING LIFE.

This man is genius! He has encapsulated so many of teh bits and pieces I have read or heard or even thought and crafted a beautiful, loving work on how to love yourself. It is truly not just a weight loss book, but a book on how to love yourself!!! I know, I am raving, but this book deserves it...I promise.
