I hesitated to buy this game after reading about all the issues people have apparently had with the camera and tracking children. On first use, I experienced some of that as well which is not terribly surprising as I'm a very tall man and my child is only 5.

However, with a few adjustments I got it working great...

1.) I positioned the camera high up, about 6.5ft off the ground on the top edge of a wall mounted TV. The camera is angled down slightly at perhaps 10 degrees giving a view not unlike a security camera would.

2.) When starting a new song and detecting dancers I allow myself to be detected first then have my son move slightly back or forward from where I'm standing until he shows up. Once he's detected, he doesn't need to stay in the exact same spot. The sweet spot seems to be about 8ft back from the camera.

3.) I don't think there's anything exceptional about our lighting, it is a well light room with 6 recessed sockets using the Philips 60W equivalent LEDs.

I hope this helps someone.

This is actually a fun game. Scoring is not really that important to have fun with it, unlike DDR you can't fail a song. But if it is important to you and you have kids, yes the camera has trouble tracking the kids (works fine for adults). if you are really concerned about scoring, reposition your camera and make sure you have good lighting, or get a Move controller. There are some good routines and a decent amount of variety in the playlist. All in all its a Just Dance game consistent with other Just Dance games with similar features.

A few things I didn't like is that it has less content than other games, there don't seem to be that many unlockable alternate tracks. The game seems to randomly unlock new ones occasionally but it appears there's only 8 hidden tracks. Only about half the songs have a mash-up or alternate routine, unlike JD2014 where you had 1-4 alternates for almost every track. There only appears to be one new Sweat track as well. There is a very annoying challenge mode that interrupts you as you select a song, I really wish there was an option to turn that off completely.

So why only two stars? Because Ubisoft is a crappy company and have injected their crap into an otherwise fun game. Here are a few examples.
-Most of the DLC is the same DLC from JD2014; if you bought it before, you need to buy it again if you want to play it without quitting and starting JD2014 up. It's not the first time Ubisoft has done this but it's still annoying.
-The game is constantly pinging you to buy the DLC via the mailbox function. Occasionally, as you finish a song it'll interrupt the normal scoring and autodance clip to ask you to check out the DLC store.

I am a huge fan of Just Dance games. I have played Just Dance 2015 for a few weeks now and in comparison to Just Dance 2014 it just isn't as great. The song selection is good. With an exception of a few songs, the dance choreography although beautiful, it isn't as fun to dance to as Just Dance 2014 was. I found myself getting bored after 20 minutes of playing. I loved the Just Sweat option on the previous game, and this one doesn't have it. There is a Playlist option that is suppose to do the same thing, but the songs lack variation in different dance options. I use JD games as a cardio work out often. I burn at least twice as many calories with JD2014 than with JD2015. That was disappointing.

Also, since the VERY beginning I have been experiencing lag and freezing with the game. The very first time I turned on the game, the JD2015 app froze and crashed. I thought this was due to the recent PS4 software update. But it turns out that every other app, including JD2014 works flawlessly. This is just a problem with Just Dance 2015. It makes playing very annoying. I am surprised a fix hasn't been released yet. Also, it's true, the camera tracking for this game is absolutely HORRID. It's not how it's positioned, or how much light there is available (of course these play a big part in the cam working properly), but the tracking for this game is terrible. I played JD2014 without moving the camera or changing the light and the tracking was normal. I then played JD2015 and the tracking picked up maybe on 40% of the moves. I'm sure this isn't an issue with an actual game, but with the JD2015 PS4 app. Again, I am VERY surprised a fix hasn't been released yet.

Overall this is a fun game to play and a good addition to the Just Dance series.

The same issue that was present in Just Dance 2014 is still present in Just Dance 2015.

The game is almost completely unable to pick up children using the PS4 camera.
No other games or the main OS have this problem at all. It is just the Just Dance games.

It is pretty much unplayable with children using the PS4 camera. You have to stand in front of the child, slowly lower yourself so that the game tracks you down, then slowly sneak behind them so it switches over to them, then try to sneak off camera without it picking you back up. Beyond just that if you have 2 children, you have to tell them they cannot dance like seen on screen because the abysmal detection will merge them into one when they cross each other, and then once they separate again many times it will stop tracking one, or both. If an adult get anywhere even remotely in the range of the camera as well it will instantly stop tracking a child and move over to the adult. This can be seen with pretty much every single community video that is posted that has a child, they are using the Playstation Move, instead of the camera.

This was a very nasty problem in 2014, and I really expected it to be addressed in 2015 so that my 6 and 8 year old daughters could play this, but Ubisoft is pretty much trash at addressing problems such as this.

Now for the rest of the game. It is what you expect it to be. The game itself is fun enough and has a very good song selection. The modes and all the different things you can unlock, as well as the community features are well done.

This still gets a low review though, because for our purpose the game is not usable.
