I bought a GE Just-Cut Pre lit tree this Christmas and was very excited about it. After four days of use, half of one section of lights stopped working. I went through all of the troubleshooting steps and the lights still do not work. When I called GE they told me that I could not return the tree and that they would send me a string of lights for my tree. The idea behind a pre-lit tree is that the lights are already on it, and the reason I bought the tree to begin with was so that I would not have to string lights on a tree in the future. Now, GE has decided that this is my only option. I invested $300 in something that I thought would last a long time and it lasted four days. GE obviously does not stand by their products. This will be the last GE product I ever buy.

I purchased a similar product to this one--a GE 6.5 ft pre-lit Just Cut Grand Spruce Christmas tree--in November of 2008. The tree comes with a 3 year limited lights warranty and a 5 year tree warranty. This tree only has the GE name on it, but is manufactured in China and backed by Santa's Best Craft. I purchased the tree for $198 at Lowe's, hoping to get about 5 years or so of use out of it at that price, seeing as it is only out of the box for a month and a half a year. After only a year of ownership (two seasons set up and out of the box) one of the branches of the middle section snapped while we were taking it down to put away. I do not have kids and my husband and I do not swing from our Christmas tree like monkeys! Santa's Best Craft is currently refusing to honor the 5 year tree warranty and making me jump through countles hoops just to get a replacement. They cannot replace the branch and can replace the section. When I first called, I had to escalate to management just to get my concerns heard. The manager I spoke with said she put in the order for a replacement section as we were talking. Seemed oh so simple. 5 hours later, she called back and said they couldn't place the replacement order until they confirmed that the broken branch was a manufacturer's defect (see above about monkey swinging on trees.) So, I had to go scrounging around local businesses to find a box large enough to ship back the largest section of the tree, but they did provide a UPS pre-paid return label for my troubles--whoopdie doo.Read more ›

Purchased 9 and half foot prelit Christmas tree from Dillards Department store. The tree was a GE Santas Best Craft. Some of the lights do not work and being under warranty I called the service and talked to Crystal. Not only was she totally rude and unhelpful she indicated I would have to restring any repair lights they would send me. The light do not work and I have to restring them!!!!!! Do not ever buy a GE Santas Best Craft tree. If you have any problems Crystal will not only laugh at your problem, not understand the warranty (she admitted this), and make it difficult if not impossible to receivev thev service you deserve based on the warranty. Stay away. I plan to also avoid Dillards as they sold me the tree. Beware of GE!!!!

This tree is a piece of garbage! The lights worked great for one Christmas season ONLY! That's ridiculous, considering my tree prior to this, didn't require a bulb change for at least 4 yrs. I've changed fuses, lights, and read numerous trouble shooting tips, but my tree still isn't working this year, which incidentally is year 4. I'll likely have to run or and but strings of lights. This is my last pre-little tree for sure!
