Mallika Chopra is a mom, media entrepreneur, author and public speaker. She is the author of the Just Be Series - Just Breathe, Just Feel, and Just Be You - a trilogy of illustrated how-to books for children (and the adults in their lives). These books provide simple tools to understand and support social and emotional knowing, resilience, meditation, mindfulness and self reflection.

In Living With Intent: My Somewhat Messy Journey to Purpose, Peace and Joy, Mallika shares insights she gained while seeking meaning and balance as a mom and entrepreneur who felt she was overwhelmed by work, family and too many responsibilities.

Mallika has taught meditation to thousands of people, and is currently a mindfulness consultant for the animated series, Stillwater, on Apple TV+. She enjoys speaking to audiences around the world about intention, balance and living a life of purpose.

Mallika has a BA from Brown University, an MBA from Kellogg Business School, and an MA in Psychology and Education with a mind body spirit concentration from Teachers College, Columbia University.

I know this book is written for children, and as a clinical psychologist, I feel like adults who are struggling would benefit from the tools presented in this book as well. Mallika Chopra's writing is in the same, easy-to-follow format of "Just Breath" (which I highly recommend as a companion to this book). There is a variety of exercises, time suggested, and locations where the exercises should take place. This book helps a child understand how to talk to adults about feelings, and how to understand that other people see things differently and may disagree with you. I love that Chopra set up the idea that the trusted adult can be a terrific person to share the many big feelings that the child goes through, because often kids don't think of adults as a helper or a translator to experience. I hope this is the beginning of a long line of books by Chopra. She has helped me personally with my family interactions and for that this book is priceless!

    I had purchased the other book by Malika Chopra that was a great introduction to mindfulness for our daughter. She is now 11 almost 12, this book helps guide her towards another level of mindfulness and self-aware behavior. It also has great exercises that allow for reflection that help her process and navigate adolescence as well. I recommended this to a lot of friends with pre-teens.

    Its not easy being a tween, we have all been there with the awkwardness and trying to figure out where and how to fit in, and this book helps sort through those feelings, dreams and aspirations. For my 12 yr old niece who had a big transition last year - this was the best gift! Highly recommend!

    What a great book! My 9 year old daughter loves this and I love it as a parent. It has great coping techniques for when my daughter can’t name her emotions. There are so many exercises that anyone can use. I love this book!

    This is great! Love the book. Depends how independent the child is. I have my Son do this as a daily reader. Problem resolution and approaches as life occurs he has healthy coping tools.
