Liv owns her own bar in England and Danny is working in the computer field in California. Liv is very independent, sassy and self-motivated. Danny is hardworking, responsible and a romantic at heart. When it comes time for them to see each other in person, they waste no time in getting reacquainted, which again, seemed very natural given their history of being friends for so long, even if it was more than a decade ago. Liv and Danny together felt just right in every way except for the obvious, where they live on different continents. At the same time, I really enjoyed their dynamic together because they had similar insecurities and yet they were also very comfortable with one another to be as honest as possible. But things aren't perfect because they are just human and humans are prone to mistakes or lapses in judgment. I loved how Liv and Danny relied heavily on their best friends for advice and how their best friends never steered them wrong. The book ends on a dangler that has me wanting to see how Danny and Liv move past the lack of open communication.
The book was a second chance romance. When they reconnect after 12 years on Facebook they realize that their love never died.
Was given an ARC by ReadingDeals.com in exchange for an honest review.
It was even better! The POV is not an issue it flows! These two are normal people and the story covers what happens when people get caught up in self-doubt and don't communicate. It causes problems but not over done angst!
They are flawed but so in love and every page has you captivated to see what they do next! It doesn't hurt that the sex is oh so sexy and for once done just right! Each scene is different from the last, no boring same sex scene over and over!
They have amazing friends and a love that spans a decade plus and we the reader get to feel apart of it! Bravo Heavens!
SO…I read “Still Human” (book 2), and I didn’t care much for the first 1/2….as I felt it dragged on the drama too long, then the second 1/2 was just the most gosh-darned romantic thing I believe I’ve ever read. Still melting in my chair. Holy smokes…would not have survived that much romance in real life. (Not that I’m in any danger of that happening.)
This was an amazing book of second chances and lost loves and hell I didn't
think she would do it to me but sure enough Kerry gave me a CH and my god I have
to wait until the weather chills so I can see what happens with LIV & DANNY. Oh
Ok enough of that...this story. JUST HUMAN.
Once I started I couldn't stop. It was beautiful and sweet and made me saw many
times awe with a huge smile on my face.
How they meet back up and why they left was original and perfect for our FB
addicted times. I hate that there was a freaking mole in this story. But moles
are everywhere right!!!!!!
Please don't let me talking of a CH detour you from reading this story. It was
so freaking awesome. I want a Danny and a Max and a Liv all for myself.
I'm typing this up with a huge grin on my face just remembering how sweet and
honest this story was. And another thing is i'm thrilled Live and Danny aren't
21 and fresh from school and bam made it. They worked for it and even though it
wasn't the best few years for them personally they pulled through becoming
awesome people and business owners.
Now Kerry other than I freaking loved this story I need the sequel LIKE RIGHT
