Just spent the day laughing, smiling, tearing up, and thoroughly enjoying every moment of this book.
Coltman shares her endearing, humorous slant on the most normal life situations we all experience. You will see yourself, your family, friends, neighbors and co-workers in the characters she brings to life and it will simply make you smile when you recognize them. A must read, especially when life gets a bit too serious. I will be sharing this book with everyone.

I read this enjoyable book straight through the very evening I received it with my daughter repeatedly asking me why I was laughing out loud. So that's the good (hilarious) and the bad (a bit short). Her observations of small town life are accurate and hysterical at the same time. If you are from a small town you will recognize your friends and acquaintances; if you are a city dweller or suburbanite Judi will introduce you to small town living. And what's the negative? It's just too short. I know there are lots more stories for her to tell and can hardly wait to read them. I'd love to read what happened at home when she realized Moondoggy purchased 15 boxes of Girl Scout cookies from a single girl when everyone knows in a small town that you buy just a few boxes from each because you can't say, "No." to any of the girls if you buy from one. My daughter was disappointed that on future cookie sales, we always encountered Judi at the door. As a disclaimer, I should note that I moved to the same small town as Judi just a year after she arrived and have known her at least as long as when our oldest sons started school. I had to buy the book because I've always enjoyed her letters to the editor and more recently, her blog. Keep the stories coming, Judi.

This is an odd little book, but good for what it is. While it was, as promised, funny in places, I think it may have fell flat too often in others. While I don't think this was really the fault of the author, she obviously has quite the sense of humor, it can probably be attributed to the fact that we weren't let in on some of the details. I really felt disconnected from the places and people in the story. While I realize this was a collection of short stories, I think they lacked the needed set up in many places. It really could have used a bit of polishing up by a complete stranger, perhaps.

That's not to say that the stories that did make me laugh weren't absolutely hilarious. It really made me want to sit down with the author over a cup of coffee and just chat and joke around. Her writing shows that she's just as likable as she is humorous. The best example of this comes in Chapter 24. You see, our dear Ms. Judi likes to completely and utterly mortify her children. I like that. I love that. I'm totally doing it to my kid.

Overall, this a good read, the funny and fully-described stories make it extraordinarily laugh-worthy. While I mention the flat stories, I don't think it devalues the book too awful much. And hey, maybe I just don't have the sense of humor I thought I had.

Recommended for the 30 and 40-something women friends. I could see my friends and I reading parts of this together and not only identifying but adding our own humorous tales.

Only three times in my life have I found myself unable to finish a book; this book was the third. A few chapters in, I had yet to crack a smile, let alone actually laugh. I might have been able to slog through it just to do it, if not for the egregious grammar errors repeated throughout. Any so-called author with no grasp of the apostrophe and plural versus possession has no place on my Kindle. I recommend watching paint dry instead.

Very funny, quick read. I feel like I have met the author and am now included in her favorite group of friends. Her renditions of life in a small town in Illinois are spot on, along with her trips to Palm Springs and time spent on the "Planning Committee!" I can vouch for the accurate portrayal of just about every kind of person she has met or worked with. Her travails with her loving husband "Moondoggy," her two sons and her Bichon Frise dog are real and often hilarious. The only reason I didn't give it a solid 5-star rating is the number of sloppy proofreading errors. Spell check can't catch places where you just choose the wrong word, like "rye smile" instead of "wry smile" unless, of course, one is referring to a sandwich or alcoholic beverage! This is an enjoyable book.

This book tells it like it is, that mental illness isn't something to shy away from but something to face head on. Judi tells her story with honesty and humorous. She doesn't shy away from the reality of mental illness but takes the reader along for the ride. All in all an excellent read.

Totally unpretentious and downright funny, this book is a collection of all the things that happen to you every day; things you wish you could remember because they are so hilarious. Not weird, or sci-fi, or fantasy, or mystery, or romance, just funny everyday things that are the very substance of our lives. You will learn a lot about yourself and a lot about Judi Coltman when you read this one.

Next time you're standing in the 20 item express line at the grocery store and the guy in front of you has 100 items and says, "These 80 cans of the same soup count as one, right?" tell him to buy Judi Coltman's "Is it Just Me? Or Is Everyone a Little Nuts!"

It's funny!
