Control GX is the first and only shampoo smart enough to gradually reduce greys by slowly bringing them back to their natural shade while it cleanses and conditions your hair. You get an extremely natural look - just by shampooing as you normally do. Just use it instead of your usual shampoo until you like what you see. Then use it in rotation with your usual shampoo to maintain the look you like. There's never been an easier way to control your grey. Get the look you want: Use the control GX as your daily shampoo, and after the first few washes, you'll start to see a subtle reduction in the amount of gray. Continue to use it until you reach your desired level of grey reduction (generally within 2 to 4 weeks). You can even control how gradually you get to your desired result by using it daily or every other day at the start. Keep it that way: Once you've reached the level of grey reduction you like, you can reduce the frequency of use, alternating with another shampoo. In general guys use it as their daily shampoo at the start, and when they are in "maintenance mode" they use it 3 to 4 times a week.

Directions

Squeeze a generous amount of product into the palm of your hand and massage into wet facial hair. Use the palms of your hands, not your fingertips, to avoid nail staining. Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water. Leave on for 2-3 minutes before rinsing facial hair thoroughly. If you want greater or faster grey recution, keep product on for an additional 1-2 minutes. Wash hands thoroughly again with soap and water, and dry facial hair with an old or dark towel. Rinse off any product that has dripped or splattered in the shower. Failure to do so can result in staining. Store tube facing cap down.

I wear a pretty long beard and it would be completely grey/ white if I didn't use this product.
I'm 53 so a little gray is expected, this gives a nice salt and pepper look.
I used to dye the beard at the salon... my hairdresser and I had some fun battles trying to get the dye onto the beard lol. I have sensitive skin/ as we all do on the face. The chemicals professional dye burned for days after.
THIS PRODUCT DOES NOT!
Sooo easy to use, works great, looks great. Only complaint is that it does not get the roots that well.

Waited to write this review after using this product for months. Reading others, I started about a week after growth; I did not have a full beard when I started using the shampoo. My goal was to even out the gray; my mustache is very dark but my beard is not, making it look like I didn't have a beard in pictures. This product works, but you have to leave it in longer than the instructions.

What you need to know:
Wet your beard and put shampoo in and leave it; the longer the better. I shave my head, and that takes 4-5 minutes, which seems to be a good length of time. You will see results within a day if you leave the product in long enough. I use the beard shampoo almost every time I shower, and I do NOT use any other shampoo on my beard.

This is MESSY. I do not recommend using it around the sink. I always use in the shower, leave it in, then rinse at the very end. Having a shower mirror helps--you can wipe off the extra shampoo so you don't risk staining your skin. You can rinse off the shampoo from every surface as long as you don't let it sit. I haven't had any staining issues and we have an off-white surface in our shower.

Use a towel you don't care about staining, especially at first. I dried my beard with a separate towel in case it stained, and it did. Same with pillow case if you use this product close to bed time.

All in all, the product does what it says--it blends the gray into your primary color, while not taking the gray completely away.

If I wanted brown lips I'd have bought brown lipstick. I noticed after about 4 applications that my lips were chapped and sore, and on further inspection, it appears they've been dyed the same color as my beard.

Which leads me to wonder. If this product stains your fingers (and lips) and you're supposed to wash your hands immediately or wear gloves, what in the world is stopping this from staining your chin brown? I bet if I shaved off my beard right now, my chin would be stained brown. Is my beard looking more brown simply because my chin underneath it is brown?

So now I have these sore, brown, chapped lips with no idea how to get them back to their lush pinkish hue. The bottle certainly conveniently doesn't mention lip damage; a warning about keeping it off my lips would've been nice.

Apologies for the nose hair in the pic. I mean, the beard is significantly less gray than before. It would also be less gray if I dipped my whole head in a tub of brown paint 3 times a week.

Beard hair is coarse, so this stuff has to be strong. The natural look is so much better than the regular dye you mix. Doing it in the shower saves a step and a lot of time. Just keep in mind, there is a warning to try to not get your fingers too much into a scrub. If you have dry fingers especially, you're going to have black in your cuticles and around your fingernails. I always wash my hands extra as soon as i've put the stuff in my beard. Even with scrubbing them I still get a little staining. It's worth it for how natural and good it looks in the beard. If you're a hand model like Art Vandelay I wouldn't use it.

Really works, if you leave it on for longer

I followed the directions of other reviewers and left the product on for longer. 10 mins at first, then 15, then 20. Once you are at the level of darkness required you only need to reapply once every couple of weeks. So super economical too! Purchased 3 box's but am still on the first after 2.5 months. Put a medium sized sandwich bag over your hand when applying if you do not wish to stain your hand/nails. Look is very natural and really winds the clock back!
