Unlike the former product, this seems to go on almost in a dry state. It wasn't messy at all. It was very easy to target specific areas of the beard/mustache. It stayed on as long as I didn't screw around with it. And, after I washed my face regularly it was like I'd never used it. GREAT PRODUCT!!! Well done.

Works, but with a LOT of caveats

I use Just For Men permanent dye to color my beard, and it's easy, fast, economical and effective. The only problem is, it grows out. Not the dye's fault, certainly. But it gets tiresome having to touch up the roots once a week.

So, I picked up one of these. And — to be fair — it DOES work. I mean, it's basically "man-scara," because that's exactly how you use it: apply it with the brush to achieve uniform color. But there are problems.

Whereas the dye offers really even, consistent color, the brush-in gets smeary, clumpy, and sticky. Any over-application looks like you drew on your face with a marker. And although it covers the greys, if you're expecting the same result as the dye, you're going to be disappointed. This dries really matte / flat-looking, and also incredibly stiff. It's also IMPOSSIBLE to wash out. It's like putting a liquid wax onto your beard that hardens when it dries.

So, while I thought it would be a viable touch-up that would help save the time and effort of having to re-apply the dye every 7-10 days, it winds up being far more trouble than it's worth. You'd be better off just getting some lash mascara or an eyebrow pencil to fill between the dyes. Bottom line: I won't buy it again.

Since 2016 I was using JFM dye but every so often it would burn my skin or make me feel itchy. Finally I found this alternative. Reason I even use beard coloring is because my hair on head is still full dark brown and looks weird with white beard. I barely have white strand on head. All in beard.
THE GOOD:
- No Itching at all.
- Much easier to apply than i thought it would be...real easy. I can do a quick application in 3 minutes. (I dont overcolor and make it look unantural which is a HUGE mistake most men make., dont cake it! A few grays showing is better for natural look)
- Does not run in heat. I worked outside and it didnt run. It does slowly come off if you touch beard, and things like that. So try to avoid contact with beard.
- Great for that Zoom meeting or youtube video.
-Colors look good and accurate.
MINOR CONS:
- Only last the day. Wish they had this exact product except longer lasting..
- Hard to tell how many applications you have left because tube is not see through. So you have. to guess. Keep an extra in case you run out at critical time.
- If this is for a date may not work cause at touch the beard will feel hard and if pressed will come off.

Overall Highly reccomend I really like it. better that the JFM traditional dye, 100% less messier and no itchyness.

Like another reviewer I used it to dye my grey beard for 70s fancy dress. Beard felt slightly coarse and stiff after it dried but effect was good took 20 years of the beard ( but not me LOL ). Took couple of good washes to remove.
If I were to dye bread long term don`t think this would be the way I would do it.

Nice little product in portable packaging. When I saw it i thought it could one of those gimmicky products, but everything about it had been well thought through.
Fort starters, the barrel/brush design is perfect for self application. I know like me, most men are not used to applying make-up, so even handling trivial things such as this applicator, could be tricky, but for me this one felt natural.

The dye itself, actually works, and stays even after washing your beard, which made the product pass the gimmicky test for me. I chose the black and I am at the beginning of my graying, so the majority of my beard is actually black, with tiny patches of white. I applied the product to these patches and the result was a uniform deep, shiny black. I was impressed by the result, the white patches noticeably have thinner hair making my beard uneven, but after applying this dye for a few days, I could see that those areas now have equally thicker hairs.
I had always wanted a dye that will not show obvious signs that I was applying to my beard, and this one fits the bill perfectly. It does not stick to the skin and the overall result is very discreet.
What I am not sure of is the pack sizes. I am starting to thing that as my graying progresses, what sort of sizes or how many of these would I need in a week? Probably bigger packs may be ideal, I don't know.
Overall, this is a great product and is going to be my go to product going forward.
