About the Author
Charity Ferrell resides in Indianapolis, Indiana. She grew up riding her bicycle to her small towns library and reading anything she could get her hands on. Angst is her happy place, and she loves writing about flawed people finding love. She loves the basics: books, shoes, and online shopping.--This text refers to the audioCD edition.

If Kyle and Chloe were two adults—I couldn’t tell. 🤨
The constant back and forth bickering between these two, was the authors attempt to show the “hate" they had for one another. By the time I progressed to 14%, I was already tired of it.
Anyways, trekking onward to 22%.(DNF after this) 👉🛑SPOLIER ALERT🛑 She hates him sooo much she agrees to come over and have dinner for one hour. Exactly forty minutes later, Kyle is on his knees having his cake and eating it too. (If you know what mean)
I’m giving it 3 stars because the writing itself, was good. But the characters are very weak and childish. The editing is good and the book was formatted nicely.
A more gradual build would have been sexier. The angst between them could have been a little more well-contrived and the characters needed to be more rounded.
This book had potential and that’s why I bought it, but ultimately, it fell flat. DNF
But it is such a depressing life that Ms Ferrell creates for the h that I just...I can't. Why so much angst? I don't understand the need to saddle the MC with so much grief and every disturbing trope, that the character becomes a caricature. Like literally, if anything good happens to the h, I might fall off in shock.
And the H--seriously? A cop threatening a journalist (with actual harassment) not to print something with the flimsy excuse 'I protect those I love'. You're a cop, jack***. Your job is literally to protect and serve and uphold justice, not just when it's for someone not related to you. In today's day and age, this is just distasteful.
I'm actually upset these two got together. She's too messed up, he's too entitled, this book is trying too hard to be good but just isn't. Enough said.
Just Neighbors had everything I look for in a 5 star read. I was laughing at times, yelling at my kindle. blushing and even crying. This book had my emotions all over the place. I had a hard time putting this book down. I truly didn’t want it to end!!!
Just Neighbors is the 4th book in Charity Ferrell’s Blue Beech Series. They are all standalone novels with interconnected characters. I don’t truly believe that these books have to be read in order. As I said this is an enemies to lovers story and is told in Dual POV. I thought the flow and pace of the story was spot on. I didn’t really know what to expect from Chloe and Kyle’s story, but I was pleasantly surprised while reading this story. I truly didn’t expect it to be as emotional as it was. The back story as well as things that happen during the story, truly broke my heart. I am happy to report that Charity was able to put my heart back together in the end :)
In this book we follow Kyle and Chloe’s story. Kyle Lane is well known in Blue Beech and also well liked. He comes from a well off family, but he is determined to forge his own path, without his dad’s help. We met Kyle first in Just Exes. He is Gage’s bff and partner with the police department. Chloe Fieldgain is the girl from the other side of the tracks. She had a horrible upbringing and is determined to make something of her life. Kyle and Chloe have a history from something that happened in High School. It ended badly, and now Chloe can’t stand Kyle. Even more so now that he is her neighbor. But Kyle just loves ruffling her feathers. I loved Kyle in Just Exes but I fell for him even more after reading this story. I loved seeing this sweet and loving side of Kyle. I also loved Chloe. She is such a strong and independent heroine. I think everyone needs to meet Chloe…her story will break your heart but what she’s done with her life will make you cheer for her to get her HEA!!!
All I can really say is READ THIS BOOK!! If you love an enemies to lovers story, this is probably one of the best I have read in a long time. Trust me this story will suck you in and you won’t know what’s to come as you read this story!!!

Having a crying jag when you have sinusitis is not a pretty thing to behold – tears, snot (so much snot *sniggers*), choking *wafts hand*... you catch my drift.
I did not see that coming... I feel emotionally spent.
Anyway, I digress. Let me start at the beginning.
Charity Ferrell is a new-to-me-author of 2019, and although this is book 4 in the Blue Beech series, it can easily be read as a standalone. I’ve been having words with myself about why I haven’t picked up this series before *snorts* As you would expect, I didn’t get any suitable answers!
I love a good enemies-to-lovers romance and I really enjoyed Chloe and Kyle’s story. I just didn’t expect to feel as if I’d been hit in the solar plexus - emotionally speaking. You all know what I’m like by now #Imnotcryingyouare
You can take the girl outta the trailer park, but, beware, peeps ain’t gonna let you forget it. Chloe Fieldgain has battled all her life to show the residents of Blue Beech that she is more than the sum of her upbringing. Chloe is succeeding at this thing called life in spite of everything. Well, almost everything... finding love is another thing entirely. An incident involving her hot AF neighbour (now a cop, no less - one word: uniform) in high school has left her with trust issues.
The Lane family is one of Blue Beech’s elite. As such, Kyle never felt the want of anything growing up. Well, that’s not strictly true but my lips are sealed for the time being. Moving in next door to Chloe, aka The One That Got Away, aka The One Most Likely To Push His Buttons, may give him the opportunity to right some wrongs. That’s if he can get her to give him the time of day.
Let the battle commence...
These two are incendiary together, and as Chloe and Kyle’s history/histories are revealed we uncover secrets that could shake the very foundation of more than just one life. We’re talking seismic ramifications.
With each chapter, as all the pieces started to come together, I felt a sense of trepidation as to how things would all turn out.
Tbh, this was a much darker read than I expected, but was still an addictive page turner. I look forward to catching up with the other books in this series as this is one author I want to read more of - I’ll just remember to have the tissues handy.
I thought this was going to be your average enemies to lovers tale. From the description I expected more romcom than anything else.
I was wrong, so wrong. There are funny parts and awkward meetings, but this runs alot deeper than that. There's history between the characters and twists, turns, secrets and lies along the way.
Some of the most emotional parts have nothing to do with the love story, its the family dramas that really drive the book. This book shocked me, I genuinely cried at certain parts. My only dislike was the Kyles treatment of Chloe after some secrets are revealed it seemed excessively cruel. I also felt there should have been more awknowledgement of the where the real blame lay at the end/more of an appology.
I would recommend this book and have done so to friends, who have also enjoyed it. Although I did get a good talking to for not warning them about just how sad some of it was. So you have been warned. You will laugh, you will cry, you will be angry, happy, emmotionaly spent, this book will put you through the ringer.
And then I cried and cried..... tears still tracking down my face as I try to write a review to do this book justice.
This book gives so many feels, it is well written (if there were grammatical errors they never destroyed the flow of the read for me), it grips you from page one until the last page.
After giggling at some scenes and enjoying the steamy and romantic scenes, i was not expecting one thing that happened in this book and it broke my heart.
I haven't read the rest of the books even though they are all standalones, I feel like I need to read them all because I love this one and need to read more like this by this author.
A fantastic read.
