Editorial Reviews

"As her personal writing coach, I know exactly what Kathleen went through in the writing of this life changing, soul enhancing book. And it was well worth it. A must read...."
-- Tom Bird, Best Selling Author and Creator of The Tom Bird Method

"I was captivated by this memoir. It is raw and honest and brought me to tears on occasion. I know Kathleen as a vibrant and articulate person and I was shocked by the depth of her emotional pain and the physical effects she has endured over decades. Her determination to finish this memoir is an inspiration."
-- Rachel Jayne Groover, Creator of Art of Feminine Presence

"I thoroughly enjoyed reading Just a Slap. As I moved deeper into the story, I became more engaged until I could not put it down. I related to Kathleen's story in many ways. Maybe a sign of our generation, where children were seen but not heard. Kathleen winds her self-discovery journey and the differing beneficial therapies through her memoir, keeping the reader engaged and curious. Having studied many of the therapies myself created a common thread for me, even down to the loving of porcelain. Kathleen weaves a gentle personal story that captivates and ignites the reader to discover more about themselves."
-- Vicki Delpero, Soul Embodiment Mentor

"There is such deep healing in this book... I totally felt it in all my cells. I was not a book I could read overnight... I had to stop and really take in what Kathleen has written. She courageously shares her healing journey of childhood trauma. Each step she takes in an integral part of completing the puzzle of her deep connection to herself. Reading her personal journey allows others to dive deep into their journey of wholeness. Kathleen is a beautiful writer who has deep compassion for humanity."
-- Denise Boninni, Feminine Leadership Mentor

"Just a Slap was a very interesting read as it gave me insights into family dynamics and inherited patterns of behaviours through generations. To read Kathleen's experience on having an abusive mother and the effect that had on her life and relationships, was truly heartfelt. The author comes from love when she writes, and as a reader you will receive great tools on how to break generational abuse and gain your own strength and self-love back. I highly recommend this book as it makes you reflect on how you live your own life and how your behaviour will affect others!" -- Gunnel Gigi Lindros, Web design by Gigi

About the Author

Sometimes it doesn't take much abuse to have a lifelong effect. Kathleen was cared for and well educated but nonetheless she experienced trauma from witnessing her brother's beltings, a common disciplinary strategy in the 1950s and 60s. Her chronic poor health led to the discovery of the healing benefits of yoga, meditation and a healthcare system called BodyTalk.
