When it comes to disability in romance books I've found myself often frustrated by the inaccuracies and the miracle cures that have ruined many promising reads. Not having read any of Ms. Stoker's previous books I didn't know what to expect but am happy that, on a whole, I found her depiction of living blind fairly accurate and seamlessly incorporated into the romance and suspense of the storyline. The disabled heroine didn't let her disability define her while the hero treated her as he would any other love interest. Theirs was a relationship of equality and their interludes were sweet and sexy and a satisfying juxtaposition to the suspense and tenseness that the villains in this story enacted to keep readers on edge.

Corrie was a refreshing heroine who didn't let her disability dictate how she lived her life. She was an independent woman who broke down every barrier put in front of her which made her admirable and worth cheering for. She was far from stereotypical as she was neither helpless nor an angel on a pedestal. She was a strong-willed woman who dealt with her disability in a realistic way, sometimes becoming frustrated but ultimately overcoming every adversity. I also enjoyed her deep convictions when it came to not cursing which led to charming and playful interactions with her friends which further exuded realism. Corrie stood tall amongst book heroines with her understandable self-esteem issues balanced with her strong self-confidence that had her sticking up for herself in the face of danger and her disability and is all the more memorable for it.

Quint's an equally charming hero with an aw-shucks attitude. He's a strong-willed man who's not afraid to show his softer side.

Prior to reading Justice for Corrie, I had never read this author, nor had I ever heard of her.

But my goodness, the woman can write.

There were a few moments while reading, sure, that Ms. Stoker almost became too descriptive, but it was easy to write off because with Corrie, descriptions are what she goes by. Blind since birth (her eyes never formed), she has always needed to rely on her other senses to keep her going. She is fiercely independent and doesn't take crap (yes, crap; not 's***' because the woman refuses to swear). She is warm and welcoming, but depending on where her mood is for the day, she can definitely get incredibly defensive -- one of the key things that had Quint falling for her almost immediately.

But through that super thick skin she has built, she still has vulnerable moments. She takes the blame for relationships gone wrong and she whole-heartedly believes that no sane seeing man would ever want to cohabitate with her -- and watching as Quint fights for her, fights for them, and proves to her, again and again, above and beyond... It was a lovely relationship to watch unfold.

There are some gruesome parts, for those with the weak stomach. One of the aspects that I so enjoyed, so appreciated, was Ms. Stoker writing of Corrie cleaning her prosthetics. She does it in a way that may make the weak-tummied a bit weasey, but I am like Quint -- I think it's awesome.

So obviously, I loved the relationship that ensued in these pages. However, the driving plotline for Quint and Corrie is the mass murder she "witnessed", and the high possibility that the killer is coming after her.

Justice for Corrie is just as good as the first book I ready from this author! She never runs out of ideas and ways to put her heroines into fixes! It's also great to see all the different kinds of strength her heroines hold when faced with their own situations! Each one has been able to deal with their situation in their own way! With Corrie's blindness, it didn't make her a victim, it made her more dangerous to the criminals! Her weakness of no sight just made her more of a liability because she was underestimated by everyone. Quint's love for Corrie was plain to tell and the way he tried to adapt himself into her world just made me love him more! The love scenes were pretty great with things from her perspective as well! The small cameo's from other characters keeps all the books loosely tied and I can't wait to see who gets up to what next! Awesome Job!!!

I love everything that Susan Stoker writes and Justice for Corrie is no exception. This is the third book in the Badge of Honor: Texas Heroes series and like the others in the series can be read as a stand alone.

Quint is a cop with the San Antonio Police Department. Corrie is a chiropractor who happens to be blind. Corrie is a witness albeit through sound and smell to a crime in the office where she works. A few days after the incident Corrie is in a restaurant waiting to have lunch with her attorney so that he can let her know a little about what is going on with the case. This is where she happens to meet Quint. Through a series of different events Corrie and Quint begin to get to know one another and then begin to date. He is also trying to keep her safe from the man who committed the crime she witnessed.

I love this book so much. Corrie and Quint are terrific together. Their relationship was a slow build to trust and then to a physical relationship. I enjoyed them getting to know one another. This is a quick read but a completely enjoyable one. Susan's characters are always interesting and to counteract the drama there is always plenty of humor along the way. Anyone who has read any of Susan's work will want to add this book to their collection as it is another classic. If you have not read Susan's work previously then this book is wonderful place to start because the story is interesting, the main characters are highly developed and it is an entertaining read.

Make sure you One-click Justice for Corrie. You will not be disappointed. If you have not read the other books in the series and are able to do so you should check those out too because they are also great reads.
