Justice in the World of Killer Whales Paperback – July 8, 2016
Purchase options and add-ons
For almost fifty years, killer whales, or orcas, have been abused and mistreated both during capture and while in captivity. They are contained in small tanks, harassed, and used for entertainment, while their natural habitat is the ocean. To keep the whales in check, trainers use brutal methods, and sometimes, the whales fight back.
One day, a three-year-old orca is captured and torn from his family. The young male whale is deemed unsuitable for training and use in amusement shows, so he is killed, his carcass tossed back into the sea. The mother orca and her pod, the dead whale's family, find the carcass and vow revenge. So the ocean justice begins.
The pod brutally attacks and kills humans along the California coast. Later, a mature male orca escapes from a marine amusement park and joins the mother's pod as the killing continues. Humans fight back. Marine Biologists, land-based law enforcement, the Coast Guard, and others try to stop the carnage--but what human cruelty unleashed, no man can stop.

- Reviewed in the United States on June 25, 2018Enjoyed book but could have done without the detailed sex in the book- was totally unnecessary.
Would have given higher but disappointed in some of storyline.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2021This is a hilariously awful novel, an attempt at a Jaws-like aquatic thriller, but there are no thrills or people you can care about in it. The dialogue and narration are beyond wooden. The two male leads get full names and pages of introduction, but the main woman is first-name-only for many pages, during which the author describes her body in great detail and assures the reader that the is "way above average on the 'hottie scale'". Out of nowhere later in the story, yes there are really out-of-place hardcore sex scenes. Was this written by a 40 year old man with the mind of a 14 year old? The marine wildlife park where the story begins is described in detail via pages-long bulleted lists of items and amenities, not worked into prose sentences as, you know, actual writers do. Plus there are long hyperlinks in the printed text of the story that presumably take the reader to real-world web pages to describe what the author is trying to say. I can't recommend it for literary merit, but it's a funny beach read if you like movies like "Plan 9 From Outer Space"!
- Reviewed in the United States on July 12, 2016Killer whales (orcas) have been used and abused for years. In this novel, the type of people and organizations perpetuating these abuses get their comeuppance--big time. This novel is about a war between killer whales versus humans. You'll have to read it to see who wins. It has all the excitement and adventure to keep you entertained and on the edge of your seat. If you care about the whales in the ocean, you'll love this novel.
