***tiny spoiler*** The story is a bit slow in the beginning and Superman's attitude is a bit overstated/not believable and they made him dumb...really really dumb...if after the first time they tell him he cant fly...yet still thinks he can...no matter how messed up his "regeneration" was, his dumbbess falls out of the logical realm of characters...but the rest of the story compensates for it.

A new direction, indeed! Initially thought this portrays my fav characters in a bit too undignified way, but as soon as the plot started to take shape I realised it was essential to have flaws in the overall make-up to create a completely new dynamic, else it would have been boring! Without saying too much, the future is portrayed with enough "unknown-in-21st century" technology to add to the allure of not knowing what direction the storyline could be going. And as I suspected.....when volume 2 was issued, the fun really started, yeah!!!!

I don't want to give away any spoilers but they brought back the Justice League in a very unique way. The story was very good and I am looking forward to more of this series. I can even see DC Direct making a new line of action figures based off of the costumes of these characters.

A pleasently surprisingly excelent book. Lots of new fans complain about the lack of liberty in dealing with comics big guns, that nothing truly ever happens. Well, Keith Giffen found a way here to use DC's hottest proprieties with complete freedom. It is the Justice League you know and love without it being the Justice League you know and love. And everything and anything can happen. The twist at the end of this book really left me salivating and anxiously expecting the second volume. That may be one of the two single drawbaks in the book. It is not a complete story, and you are left hanging on a cliffhanger. Also, the fill in artist of one of the issues really isn't up to the standards of regular series artist Howard Porter, whose work is outstanding. All in all, a great read.

In the far future, five great heroes of our time have been brought back. Or have they? Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash and Batman have been resurrected to battle an evil that threatens the entire universe and... I can't say any more than read this. You won't regret it.

I didn't like this book at first but after a couple of issues I couldn't put it down. A very interesting take on the League . New original villains and freedom to be creative because it's outside continuation. Also DC needs a space book outside of the Lanterns since they can't do a decent Legion of Superheroes comic anymore which is sad

This had so much potential but everything quickly went downhill. I thought the idea of the Justice League being "reborn" into the 31st century an interesting concept but the writing was awful and redundant at times.

JL3000 vol. 1 is a really fun read. It's amazing to see Howard Porter back in top form with a fresh approach. The old Bwahaha team takes a new approach as well, while still harkening back to the old JLI days. The JL in this story is really interesting and it's cool to see their qualities shine through in these immature, mentally damaged revived versions of themselves.
