The Standard of the West Since 1879 The story of Justin Boots began in 1879, when H.J. Justin moved to Spanish Fort, Texas to become a boot repairman. He was a quick study, with an eye and talent for boot making. H.J. soon began his own boot company, Justin Boots, which he operated out of his home to serve cowboys passing though town. H.J. saw the potential for his business, so when a railroad was built ten years later in Nocona, Texas, he moved his family there to capitalize on a bigger market. In 1908, Justin Boots became a true family company when his sons, Earl and Avis, came to work for their father. Their combined efforts pushed the company forward, and just two years later, Justin Boots had doubled its production and was being sold in 26 states as well as Mexico, Canada, and Cuba. Seven years after their father´s death in 1918, his sons moved the company headquarters to Fort Worth where it still operates today. Every pair of Justin Boots is a salute to the spirit of independence, hard work and authenticity of the cowboys who have worn them since 1879. After more than 130 years of Western boot making, Justin Boots is still true to its roots. When you purchase a pair of Justin Boots you will own the most authentic and stylish Western footwear available. And with Justin´s patented J-Flex® Comfort System you will be wearing the most comfortable boots ever made. This is why Justin Boots has been crowned the ¨Standard Of The West Since 1879¨.

Seems like a very very very well made boot. However very large compared to regular shoe sizes. I wear an 11 EE in almost every shoe that I own. I ordered a 10 1/2 EE and it was very large. I have sent back the boots and ordered a 10 EE, but my original order was so big I'm worried that the size 10 wont fit either. The 10 1/2 were so big that I almost thought that they were mislabeled, but the boots were stamped properly. I don't know, I guess we'll find out when I receive the size 10. If they're too small then I'll know there was a snafu with the manufacturing of the other boots.

I got this boot size 10.. My feet 9.5 ~10. I have allways buy size 10 work boots. I have wide feet and they got wider with weight gain and age. I should of listen to the other reviews and gotten half size smaller extra wide. Anyways day 1 was nice(under armor work socks thinner and keep feet dry) end of day I notice them loose felt discomfort in heel. Day 2, I decided to wear regular sock (thicker feet sweat)started to feel the heel rubbing even with thicker socks and pain in my heels from rub.I was gonna return them but I gave it another day with under armor socks( don't like sweat). I figure my heel should get use to and it did. I was pain free and forgot about the loose boot.On day four I don't even notice they feel like year old boots. Keep in mind they are on the big side they don't seem to bother me at all. Now I give 4 stars is to the great craftsmanship that goes on this boots, I mean they are tough I think that's why they rub more at the heel at first, I love them. Next pair I'll order size 9.5 extra wide and see how it goes. For now I'll stay with size 10.
I could handle little discomfort first day or 2, but if you are one that can't I recommend softer leather boots.

Size: 11.5 2E USColor: Rugged Bay Gaucho Verified Purchase
These boot were way too long but not very wide in the toe area for being 11.5 2E width. The end result of this is my foot was sloppy in the boot and my toes still had no room. On top of this flaw the inside ankle seem rubbed and there is a rough seam in an amazingly stupid location right wear your medial malleolus(the boney bump on the inside of your ankle) touches the boot. Wearing these things is asking for blisters. I expect better for the price. These are not good work boots. on a style side note the top is so wide it would require me to tuck my pants into the boot too and I am not that kind of person.

As all shoes are made to different specifications across companies I comfortably wear a 11.5E or 11.5 in Rockport, Merrell, Vasque, and New Balance. That means that the length was wrong and the width is super narrow in comparison to these companies.

I have had many work boots and this one fits and feels perfect; unlike the many others. Easy pull on and sooooo comfortable. Simply an awesome boot. I am going to order another pair because I am fearfull that I will never find another pair that fits my foot perfectly. I am so proud of this company because it is made in the USA! Go USA! Nice quality leather (not the cheap crap) and a sturdy hard rubber bottom. You will love them!

These boots are fantastic. I'm normally a 10.5 in work boots, I sized down to 9.5 for these and they fit great. They're very comfortable and can be worn all day. Give them a couple weeks to really break in. They also look great! I bought a pair of both the rugged tan groucho and rugged bay groucho. The "bay" looks pretty true to the image on Amazon. The tan is not nearly as light as what's pictured. I would say it's almost closer in color to the "bay". I've added a picture for comparison. The bay is on the left, tan on th right. (I bought bay first, so they're a little more worn in than the tan) Both are awesome looking though, and a great buy!

I wanted a leather slip on work boot. The fact that these boots are USA made got my attention. Ariat was another considered brand. These are excellent leather.

The comfort of these boots support the technology that went into the construction. You can feel the ground but with the right amount of padding that protects and supports doing work on various types of terrain. These boots are confidence inspiring when stepping on uneven ground and on top of debris.

There is a break in period, of course. I am using a heavy sock. I have a pair of US made dress Justin Ropers in the same size.

Update, I have been wearing these boots for a year. These are excellent, durable, and well fitting, performing boots. I use thick wool hiking type socks. I have read these type of boots are designed to be worn with thick socks. The heel and foot bed has excellent stability. The leather quality is impressive. These boots are now very easy to walk in after having used the wetting and wearing break
in method recommended. The boots look better having been worn than new.

I should preface my review by saying that my first pair fit perfectly and were comfortable and lasted an entire year of abuse. the second pair were too large and being the dummy I am I wore them until I had large blisters on the bottom of each foot, ordered a half size smaller and they are a much better fit.

Glad I ignored the reviews that say these boots run too big. I wear size 10 and that's what I ordered and they fit perfect. True to size and they are very comfortable. They have what they call NEW JMAX gel insoles that you can remove if you want. But let me tell you that the insoles are comfort you can feel and im not removing them! I guess if you did remove them, it would be to get more room in the boot if they were too snug. Anyway this was worth every penny. So get em....you'll love em.
