I prefer to eat straight chocolate, but every now and then I think everyone craves a more “guilty” pleasure (whether something like a Snickers bar or Reese’s cups) and I think Justin’s peanut butter cups fills this gap in a tastier, healthier, and more sustainable way. When you first try them they may seem different to what you’re used to (sweeter than dark chocolate, not as sweet as the options mentioned above) but there’s a good chance that they’ll grow on you and you’ll eventually be craving more. I’m not even that nuts (ho ho) about peanut butter, but Justin’s cups have converted me—there’s a good balance between chocolate and peanut butter. I’m not going to discuss quality issues related to the supplier; I’d suggest buying a pack locally if you want to try them out, and after that be cautious about who you buy them from (check out the other reviews). The ingredients are organic and Rainforest Alliance certified. Justin’s mention in their press releases and website product info that their chocolate is also fair trade, but there’s no fair trade certification stamp on the product itself. The Rainforest Alliance states that their standards and practices have impacts on local communities that are equivalent to those of fair trade initiatives.

If you eat two of Justin’s cups that’s 8% of your salt daily value (dv) and 14 grams of sugar. That compares to 5% dv salt and 28 grams of sugar in a regular Snickers bar, and 6% dv salt / 31 grams sugar in a 2-pack of Reese’s peanut butter cups. So, Justin’s have half the sugar, but actually higher in salt than the “competition”. I don’t think Justin’s cups would lose anything if they reduced the salt content – they definitely taste a tad salty to me.

I'm not sure what the one-star reviewers are talking about, to be honest. I've had several of these and not one tasted chalky, nor was the filling hard. In fact they seem to have a smoother texture than products such as Reese's Peanut butter cups, which have a grainy-seeming texture, not like real peanut butter. The stuff in these peanut butter cups are much more like real peanut butter (and not the kind loaded in sugar and extra oils).

Ergo, I just really like 'em. 'Nuff said.

I normally love these and i buy them from whole foods all the time. The order i received now was very different. The chocolate was pale, i know this happens sometimes with chocolate so i very concerned with it. But the peanut butter is not the creamy version i buy at whole foods. This was dry and powdery and reminds me or any other peanut butter cup. Whats upsetting is that i bought this to bring it to europe to share and it was a big disappointment. If i was home i would have sent it back because something is clearly wrong and they are not like the ones i buy in store. I did check the date and they say they don't expire until 06/01/16/

My daughter loves these! These are Feingold Stage 1 approved...no artifical coloring, flavoring, sweetners...all Natural! These are a must if your trying to eat "clean" but still want the sweets!

Bland taste and dried up peanut butter on the inside. They taste like they had been sitting on someone's shelf for years and they sold them to get rid of them. They do not taste like the real ones that can be bought in the store. I would not buy these again and I wouldn't recommend that anyone else do either.

I actually love these PB cups when I've purchased them in the store (and have done so several times). But for whatever reason, after reordering twice from different sellers, these came with the PB inside all dried out. I won't be ordering again.

I hate to leave less than 5 stars on this product but judging by other reviews buying from Amazon is hit or miss. I bought these from Martin's grocery store several times and they were fabulous. Based on what I ate there I would give 5 stars all day long. A friend sent this package for my daughter from here on Amazon and they are dry, crumbly and seem like they either were frozen at some point (if you freeze chocolate you'll understand what I mean) or are just that old. The ones from the grocery store were gooey and soft and all around heaven given the organic/health factor. Not that you can call them health food but if you're going to eat this stuff anyway then this is the way to go. but I digress, I was sorely disappointed in these. My daughter had not had the ones I bought elsewhere so she's happy with them but I won't buy them for myself. I'll just wait until the grocery store gets them back in. The kid is happy because she thinks they're just like reeses and it's junk food that I'll let her have occasionally. The texture really is more reese like from this box. It is't normally. So proceed with caution. You may get lucky, or you may not mind if you don't. They're still pretty good, just not as good as fresh ones.

I bought mine at Whole Foods. If you've tasted Reese's, then you won't be disappointed. Usually when I buy organic, the taste isn't really that great, but Justin's was even better than Newman's (which is like almost liquidy dripping -not that tasty- peanut butter coming out of a melting chocolate shell.) Justin's is a firmer tasty peanut butter filling in a firm tasty chocolate shell. It's organic, vegan so a better alternative to Reese's but still tasty.
