I bought this after I bought the one just like it but with the 5/8" nozzle. The smaller nozzle took too long to fill the things I wanted to use it for (riding lawn mower, ATV, boat) and since they all had large fuel supply holes I got this (I understand I will need the 5/8" for cars or the smaller garden tools). I am very happy with the quality. My husband filled both tanks at a gas station a half hour away and I couldn't even tell that they had been in the car.

We had been using the plastic containers, which made the car stink for days. I also hated to have to unscrew the nozzle, turn it around (getting gas on my hands) and try to get the nozzle in the lawnmower tank without spilling anything. This requires you squeeze a handle before the gas is released, the same idea as a gas pump, so nothing spills. It also feels much safer than the plastic tanks.

The only downside of these versus the plastic is the weight. They do weigh considerably more. Once I add 5 gallons of gas they get heavy. That is why I got this 1" nozzle version as it takes less time before the gas is transferred.

I am very happy with these cans. My neighborhood is geeky enough that I have had some neighbors stop by to see our new cans. Every guy has said that their wife wants the same as they also are a little freaked by the safety issues of the plastic cans.

Highly recommended.

Had this gas can for less than 6 months. The spout starting leaking out it's sides. Yesterday it started to come apart. It has a spiral construction and the spiral started to open up. It is completely useless at this point. I will try to get another spout without buying a whole new can. I think I will look at Eagle products in the future.

I received a shipment of 2 Justrite 7250130 gas cans, one of them has a broken off fill cap lever which I found at the botton of the undamaged shipping carton and the fill cap was displaced. I am glad of this because it allowed me to notice the construction of this part. The lever is made of some sort of non ferrous cast white metal and and broke at a very thin cross section at the point where it has a hole that is used to lift the fill cap. If hit, this piece can easily break at that point as CAST white metal is very brittle, especially in cold weather, If this happens there is nothing to hold the fill cap in place which could be disastrous if the can is being transported in a vehicle. this is ironic for an expensive safety product, and very disapointing for a product made in the USA. Needless to say I have returned the cans for a refund. I give this product NO Stars. I have no product agenda and do not compare this product to any other. Handle with care if you own any of these cans. I have uploaded 2 images of the broken lever, click on

I never thought I'd spend close to sixty bucks on a gas can, but I've just bought my second one of these and plan to buy 4 more in the near future. Over the last few years it seems that the cheaper plastic ones have become less and less durable. We live on 12 partially wooded acres that we keep well manicured, so between the 72" zero turn mower, the 48" garden tractor, weed whackers, chainsaw, snow blower and 10kW generator, we need to keep a large supply of gas on-hand. We keep six 5-gallon plastic cans that seem to need replacing every couple years because the spouts crack and break. You can buy replacement spouts, but they cost almost as much as a new can and you're never sure if the spout will fit your old can.

I was a little concerned about the complaints of leakage through the steel flex-hose spout, but our first can hasn't had that problem at all. The spout attaches to the can via two machine screws, and there's an included cork gasket to use at the connection point; but I used a little Permatex Gasket Dressing and Flange Sealant in addition to the cork gasket. As I understand it, the complaints about leakage concern gas coming through the walls of the flex hose itself and not at the flange, but I figured a little Permatex wouldn't be a bad idea anyway.

The operation of the can is simple. The can stays in a sealed state until you get it positioned where you want it and then squeeze the valve control handle. With a little practice, you can easily slow the flow when you're getting close to a full tank by easing your grip on the valve control a little. When you want to stop the flow of fuel, you simply release the valve handle.

I ordered an received my 5 gallon tank in good time, one problem. No pictured gasket to screw on between the flexible metal spout and the tank. I emailed JustRite an they sent me the gasket I needed right away.
(They actually went above and beyond!)
I'm very happy.
No leaks or un raveling parts as mentioned in the other reviews I read. Tight and well made.
Ill buy more of these gas tanks in the future, they are definitely worth the price! Try it once you'll never go back to those cheap get what you pay for stinky plastic gas cans.
