Jyl London is a passionate volunteer in charities and has her own non-profit to help children with cancer. She is also happy to be called an IT Nerd.
She does her best writing on the beach, overlooking a pool or barricaded in the home she shares with her youngest son, Connor Checketts, and her puppy, Arrow.
Jyl loves to dream of plumerias, mystical heroes, and a better world. She is also proof that women are stronger than they look. She hopes that chivalry is alive and well, somewhere, so she'll find her prince charming.

Chelsea knew that subconsciously that she was attracting broken people. Clearly, all the work that I needed to do, I wasn’t done with it. I’ll take a break from dating and focus on my career, family, and friends. I have never loved meditation or yoga, but I will do it as part of my daily routine to discover the parts of me that need fixing, she thought.

Blog postThis week I have had quite a few emails, comments, and questions about toxic souls and their karma. Must be the new moon and everyone feeling the need to cleanse toxic from their life. So one of the questions I see quite a bit is how do you know someone is toxic? Those that know me or have read my books know that I chose to end ties with many toxic individuals. I don’t care if it is a child, a spouse, a friend. If I have tried and they continue to prove who they are – BELIEVE THEM. I also, ch11 months ago Read more

Blog postI was blessed and honored to spend an afternoon talking about life, the book, and perspectives with one of my most treasured mentors, Beau Babka. Beau is a former Utah Congressional Candidate, Professional NFL Player, Utah’s Chief of Police, A Teacher, and my favorite mentor.
Beau and I met at a domestic violence charity event years and years ago. We instantly became close friends and I continued to be marveled by his loving heart.

Chelsea gazed out her bathroom window, trying to erase the images of her dad lying dead. His skin a purplish-grey tint, reminiscent of clay. Whether asleep or awake, she would see his face frozen solid. He looked to her more like a statue than the man she knew as her dad.?It all happened so quickly. One moment he was out of surgery,12 months ago Read more -

There were lights everywhere as Chelsea moved in slow motion. “Are those fireflies?” she asked as she walked towards them. They seemed to dissipate like she was walking through a cloud or rays of sunlight.
“Am I dreaming?” Chelsea asked while trying to figure out if it was a dream and shrugged her shoulders.
I guess it doesn’t matter if it is a dream. Enjoy the view and stay in the moment.

Blog postFinally, it was New Year's Eve, and she felt like she was going to be able to move past all that had happened in the year. She was thrilled to have Carter for the holiday and agreed to attend a kid-friendly party at a friend's house. Carter, upon arrival at the party, immediately ran downstairs to play with the other kids. She followed him and said hello to all of her friends.

Blog postExcerpt from the book, “Behind Tear-Stained Eyes” Chelsea got up at a seminar to speak. She struggled to accept this speaking engagement because she had a fear of public speaking, and the entire topic of domestic violence was a hard one for her to speak about. It was emotional, humiliating, and she had to be very vulnerable, which was not a comfortable place for her.
She browsed the crowd to see many survivors, and others that she could tell were still struggling to get out of a bad1 year ago Read more -
Blog postAfter a few short months, Dexter and Chelsea’s marriage became rocky. He was withholding money from her, not paying his ex-wife her child support, not helping Chelsea with the mortgage, and he could barely hold a job. She had started a new job an hour away from where they lived and was commuting, taking care of Dexter’s children and Carter, traveling, paying all the bills, making car payments for them both, and running Dexter’s event-planning business together.

Why do I have all this hair on my arms? Chelsea thought as she looked around at her friends at their lockers and didn’t see any hair on their arms. She hadn’t noticed until Hannah said it, but now it was all she could think about.
“Mom?” Chelsea exclaimed, “Why do I have so much hair on my arms?”
Ava looked at Chelsea’s arms seeing mostly peach fuzz, “Honey, it’s white hair, and you hardly have an2 years ago Read more -

“I’m so glad tomorrow is Friday. This week seemed like the longest week, and I want the weekend to be here already.” Chelsea thought as she looked up at the clock. The bell rang, and outside the door, she could see Brett’s surfer’s hair waiting for her to get out of class. A routine that they had at the end of her 7th?period.
