Very healing effects. Great for meditation, background, drifting off to sleep.
This album is like the most pleasant brain surgery, in a good way! A musical
treatment for your brain. Must be experienced. I have all of David Parsons
albums, my favorite composer in the contemplative world fusion genre.

I can't help, but there is always something very unique and fascinating when listening to the music of this ambient doyen from New Zealand. David Parsons is highly experienced traveller through Middle and Far East regions and he keeps on infusing his soundscapes again and again with some exotic substances. David's music is wonderfully mesmerizing, not only when listening through some mountain trekking, but also for your home listening sessions. Title track "Jyoti" opens graciously the album with immense floating electronics enriched by David's distinctive flavours of metallic- and bell-like sounds. This adventurous expedition just begun! "Incarnation" is deeply mysterious with quite minimal structure, yet richly sounding with assorted futuristic and sharp sounds and attractively spiced with generated sounds of Tibetan chants and storm. David keeps the next composition, "The Valley Below", again on the exotic highlands of main Himalayan range. This piece merges unique sounds and atmospheres with some intriguing choir- and voice-like ingredients, truly amazing! More mechanized textures enter "City Of Spirits", later traversing into more drifting, but spiraling and cascading structure with other unique sounds reminding cicadas and voices. Quite minimal in structure, but maximally imaginative! A pure sonic bliss, Mount Everest of the album was just reached!!! More aerial and ethereal beauty invades "Tsaparang Moon" with circling dreamy washes. "They Come" is quite mininal, but colored with pulsing elements and mechanized voice-like sounds and backed by tranquilized waves. A truly evocative and grandiose finale of this beautifully hypnotizing and meditative piece of music that captures infinite energy, spaciousness and mystery of Tibetan monastery and Himalayan plateau regions!!! Another strongly recommended travelogue adventure of this highly respected sonic explorer!!! Thank you, Mr. David Parsons!!!

David Parsons creates another masterpiece. Ideal for meditation, breathing or relaxation. It is a continuation of his otherworldly soundworls. Highly recommended.

I have many discs by David Parsons. Some of them are very forward (you can't ignore). This album is peaceful. You can let it be and do something else (as other reviewers have noted: work, mediation, yoga, drift to sleep). But also you can zoom into it, pay attention, relish the complexities that evolve and transform, catch the subtle sonic signatures. And then zoom back out and listen from a distance, perhaps fall away to some other activity.
