Absolutely love this sink. It's very nice quality. I would highly recommend it, an easy update to the kitchen. In hindsight I would have put the garbage disposal on the larger sink side, after soaking pots or having large dishes to rinse, it would be easier to do in the large side.

The different sink sizes work great for washing larger dishes/pots while leaving enough space for rinsing dishes into garbage disposer. Looks good with matching faucet and soap dispenser. Arrived quickley and in good condition as described.

We had a few priorities when looking at a sink that this satisfied:

-Internal rim. Some top mounted sinks will allow water to flow from the divider all the way to you or the back of the sink if there is no rim to catch the water. On this model, the metal is higher around the edges and lower in the divider between the two sides. When the water is on high, it does not travel all the way, it stops and stays in the sink.

-2nd smaller section full depth. Many sinks with unequal sides tend to have the smaller side shallower, usually about an inch. I am unsure why this would be advantageous, and would prefer to get the full depth for holding dirty dishes and junk for the garbage disposal. It minimizes splashing that gets out of the sink and makes sense to me.

-Larger side can hold a pot/pan with long handle. Equal sides may be good for some, but I like unequal sides. The shape of this sink allows for the handle of a pot or pan to go way up in the far right corner. All of our pots and pans, including our largest frying pan, fit in this sink flat with room to spare. This makes washing easy since we can maneuver it easily even if there are other things in the sink.

-8" or 9" depth. While we really wanted a 9" depth, most of those with the shapes we wanted were quite expensive. The 8" is much better than what was installed in the house when we bought it so it is acceptable.

-Heavier gauge stainless steel. Cheap sinks are 20 or 22 gauge steel. They dent easier and make flimsy sounds when you put things down or move around in the sink. We wanted a 16 gauge, but this 18 gauge was in our budget. Worth it for the extra quality since we don't want to change this sink for a long long time.

I used the word "nearly" only because no undersink tie down tabs were in the box. I had understood all hardware was to be included. My installer went to a home improvement store that sells Kohler sinks to get them, just $2 or $3 for a pack of them. Everything else WAS perfect. The sink is beautiful in appearance and function. The near 9" depth is excellent and the design on the large side permits you to immerse a large skillet and handle completely. Sound reduction does reduce typical metal sink noise considerably. This is no thin, cheaply made sink - the quality is exactly what you'd expect from Kohler. We're very satisfied with this purchase. I would advise to get Kohler's stainless steel (with brass fittings) drains. One wouldn't want to purchase a quality sink and then compromise on drains. Top it off with a Delta quality faucet (from my experience, stay away from any faucet that starts with an "M") and you're good to go with this lifetime sink.

I looks great and I love the design, but the quality isn't quite what I though it should be. I choose the Kohler over the others for its heavier gauge steel. The price point jump to the really heavy stuff was more than I could afford. So far in one week with very gentle use I have made a small ding from a pot that dropped just and inch off the bottom and two scratches on the top of the sink that I can't explain. These were not copper pots, rather lightweight egg pans. I just purchased the bottom covers for protection, but those are a pain because you must pick them up and clean under them due to food getting stuck. I wish I would have saved up the extra money on the heavier gauge steel models. Now I worry every time I wash dishes.

Update: I really don't recommend this at all now. After a few months of gentle use, it looks like my last sink did after 20 plus years of use with all the scratches and dings. This is obviously a very cheap grade of ss.

We purchased this sink to replace a regular double bowl sink in our home. My wife bakes a lot and washing baking pans in the old sink was not easy. The large/medium bowl arrangement on the new sink works fine. The sink arrived in good shape in a partially open, unsealed box. A little tape on the box might have been nice. I installed a new Delta Faucet, GE Water maker and a new drain and tailpiece on the right side. I used the garbage disposal from the old sink on the left bowl. I removed the old sink, checked the fit of the new sink and all looked fine. With the new faucet installed, I turned the sink upside down on saw horses preparing for caulking and attaching the clips to hold the sink in place. You would think that a company like Kohler could come up with a better way of clamping the sink in place. The clips are supposed to slide under the lip on the sink edge, which they don't without sliced fingers, and then with the sink in place a nut is turned up a very long bolt to hold a flat piece against the underside of the counter top. Good Luck! Setting the sink in the opening you will probably knock off at least two of the clips. Most likely the ones that went on easily. Now you're laying under the sink, in the cabinet looking up. Try to find the skinny, long bolt with the nut on it. It's pretty dark up there unless you have a very hot light right next to your head. The instructions show you turning the nut with a socket. Nobody makes a socket that long! I used a ratchet wrench that had a swivel rachet on one end. Still extremely difficult. Just as an aside to this and to make life more difficult, the Silicon caulk I purchased at Home Depot the day I did the installtion was apparently old or had gone bad and set up almost instantly.Read more ›
