Great wading boots. Love the fact I can change up the soles of these with the new omnitrax 3.0 to match the terrain of the river I am fishing. Boots are very well made and very light dry and wet.

***UPDATE 3-26-12***

I have had my Redside boots for a bit over a year and noticed that the pull tab on the back (to aid in pulling the boots on) has begun to rip away from the boot. So I contacted the manufacturer via e-mail describing the problem. I got an reply e-mail within a few hours asking for a picture showing the ripped boot. I sent the pic and within an hour received a phone call from their customer service department giving me a return number so I can send the boots back for a replacement. I couldn't be happier with the customer service. After wearing the boots for a year, I am happy with them. They are light weight and comfortable. I normally wear a size 10 tennis shoe but went with a size 11 in these boots and they fit very well.

While there are many reviews saying to buy something else/these boots fall apart, I would have to disagree. My boots, (purchased from G.M.) are superb for an entry level wadding boot. The tabs to put the soles on are holding well, the tabs to pull the boots on are sturdy, and a size up is a spot on recommendation.

As far as people having sole issues in different terrain, I would have to partially agree. While I have no issues with stuff collecting between the boot and the Omnitrax 3.0 soles; if I step into mud I am mindful of the possibilities and rinse them as soon as I get back into water, I think that if you are mindful of your equipment and its limitations you will have fewer problems. The problem I am having is with the "Klingon" rubber. While they are great for hiking you to your destination on lake or river side trails, they are sub par on the cobblestone river beds that can be found here in the Appalachian mountains of southwest Virginia. Now, the felt do a great job in this area but I find the felt to be a hit (as in falling into the water) or miss deal on didymo covered rocks of the South Holston River. So, I will be buying a sole with spikes, or trying out the Svelte soles on the didymo covered rocks.

Now for some more good:

I have had four spine fusions and comfortable footwear is my highest priority. These replaced a pair of boots that were overly clunky, had terrible ankle support and an all around misery to wear so anything was probably going to be an improvement. My Korkers have not only provided me with less to haul around on each limb, regardless of which sole I have on, but the support in my ankles is amazing and I feel a vast improvement in surefootedness because of that alone.

These boots rock. They are extremely reasonably priced for wading boots. They look good. The are well made. A prior reviewer who said the eyelets are not well secured is mistaken. The eyelets are attached extremely well. Also, the interchangeable soles work great. I was plodding around on mossy rocks, thick mud, and gravel, which is par for the course for the shallows of the Potomac River. Again, one reviewer said that the soles came off in mud. I don't know how this could have happened unless he/she did not attach the soles properly, because I was knee deep in thick, shoe-sucking mud repeatedly and the soles stayed on securely. (I ended up with filthy boots, but that was to be expected. They rinsed fine under the hose when I got home.) I also liked the pull-tight lacing. Finally, I loved that I could order my normal shoe size. I wear a size 10 shoe and these boots in size 10 fit me perfectly (over a pair of Orvis waders with properly sized neoprene booties). These are an excellent pair of lightweight boots.

The lugs that hold the laces eventually failed me fishing in NJ and Korkers replaced them - they were only 2-3 months old. They are an OK boot....they are how ever very comfortable but the metal lugs seem to require fresh water rinsing and most of the time after a full tide- i do not have the luxury of rinsing off my gear. very often I am sleeping in my car and throw all my wet gear waders- wetsuit- boots and booties in a bin and leave there while i sleep. Beware the lugs may fail you...another thing to note is, if you fish muddy or sticky bottom like Jbay or backbay swamp like waters like we have here in NJ, you may lose your studded or non studded bottom sole to the mud....they break easily....if Korkers used better metal for their lace lugs and a better system these would be a 5. If they weren't so comfortable, they would get a 4. price doesn't seem to reflect the quality either....i had a pair of 60$ simms that i bought at somerset fly fishing show that lasted 4 years- countless trips to block montauk cuttyhunk and the cape and they lasted longer than these did- which was 3 months before the lugs popped. maybe this won't happen to you and i hope it doesn't, but i walk a lot on my excursions.

These boots have been great so far. Sizing is true. The only reason why I did not give this product 5 stars is because of the entry into the boot. The tongue flap is attached up high and therefore entry is tight, even after loosening up the laces all the way up and down the boot. Maybe this is more pronounced in my case because I have a long (size 14) and wide foot. But quality wise these are great.I use them typically over a neoprene wader on the rocks fishing the surf / shore along the New England coast
