Editorial Reviews

They may have lost a step or two, but Detective Dooley (James Belushi) and his four-legged partner Jerry Lee are still fighting crime with their band of heroics and hilarity. Now reluctantly partnered with a younger K-9 team: the beautiful, no-nonsense detective named Welles (Christine Tucci) and her highly-disciplined Doberman, Zeus. Dooley figures he needs Welles and Zeus like a hole in the head - and he nearly gets one when a mysterious attacker tries to gun him down. Reluctantly, Dooley and Jerry Lee make a plan with their new partners - to trap the madman and then spring into action as fast as their legs will carry them! With its entertaining mix of action and laughs, K-911 spells fun for everyone. Starring: James Belushi, Christine Tucci Directed by: Charles T. Kanganis.

Cop and Dog are back in this very funny sequel. The LA Times said it was "better than the first" and I agree. The two dogs are great! There's just enough action for Dad, but not too intense for little kids, who will love the dogs. My kids, age 4 to 18, loved it. They all thought it should have been released in the theaters. Grab some popcorn and your favorite drink, then kick back and enjoy.

This was an excellent movie. I had seen the first one and thought it was good but this one is even better. I had friends over and we watched it and we all laughed at some of the scenes in this movie. all I can say is its an excellent movie and everyone who loves a great comedy should either watch it or do as I will when it becomes available in the store is to buy it. my Queation is how soon will it be available to the public to buy?

The movie itself is basically entertaining, if you are a fan of the first then you will like this one. The K-9's are what carry this movie and Belushi's lighthearted humor helps alot. The only thing I did not like about this movie was the constant bickering between Belushi and the female costar, we get the point after the first argument! But after we get past those scenes the movie seems to pick up and go. As for Jerry Lee (Mac The Dog), I have always liked him and was very glad to see him in a motion picture again.

One of the few honest reviews of this movie. Ugh. Lame is right. Bad acting. Crappy, predicable, cliche scenarios. Baaaaad cheeeeeese.
Sorry...I LOVE James Belushi and LOVE Mac, Sonto & Reno (Jerry Lee)....but this movie...no. Disappointing at best.

Title: K-911 (1999) 1 Hour 31 Minutes
Director: Charles T. Kanganis
Studio: Universal Studios
Genre: Comedy
Actor: James Belushi
Actress: Christine Tucci
Closed Captioned and in Color
Detective Dooley is an overweight, unconditioned middle aged detective and his partner is an aging 4 legged canine by the name of Jerry Lee that are still fighting crime. They are paired with Christine Tucci as Seargent Wells and a very disciplined Doberman by the name of Zeus. Detective Dooley doesn't want the help of Seargent Wells or Zeus, but together they make a great foursome.
This is a hilarious movie rated PG 13 and I recommend it to everyone.

The first K-9 movie was really great.... but as I said you can't do the same thing twice (the originality was the result in the first movie but not with the following movies......)
NOT AS GOOD AS THE FIRST K-9 WHICH WAS THE GREATEST...

I had a lot of fun watching this movie, as I would watching any silly movie involving a funny dog. That's pretty much all this movie is, but, that's why we watch this type of movie, isn't it? Jerry Lee is a little older now, with the gray muzzle to prove it, but he still does his job and takes care of his also older partner. He's a great dog actor, too. This is a fun and funny movie for dog lovers. That's about the best recommendation I can give, but that's what I was looking for, so I would have to say this movie worked for me.

I bought this based on reviews that said it was better than the original, which I really enjoyed - WRONG. It was sad to see John Belushi get old and in poor shape (I really think he was not just acting out of shape), and Jerry Lee is not the same dog. I know dog's get old fast, so maybe they couldn't use the original Jerry Lee, but they could have done a much better job of casting the dog. Jerry Lee he is NOT! The writing suffers from many plot holes, not the least of which is the failure to explain Tracy's death or even tie it into the movie. They try to make it funny, but this one fails to measure up. it's only for small kids under the age of 12. Anyone older will see right through it.
