I owned this for less than 5 minutes and had all of the head studs that would not come out with the double nut method removed. My studs were about 7.8 mm diameter. The first stud that I took out was locked into the tool so tight that I had to put it back into the head to get the tool off. I do not view this as a negative. I was able to break all of the rest of the studs, back the tool off as soon as it broke, and then re-engage to pull the stud the rest of the way out on all of the rest with no problem. First use and this thing has already been granted a place on my head work bench.
One review stated this will not work for automotive. I used this to remove studs on a 4A-GE Toyota head that has very limited space. If you hold the tool body in place and move the cam to the stud it works fine. I did have to back it off, realign, crank an 1/8 turn, etc on one of the studs because I could not turn it very far, but it still worked, and that is the important part.
Another reviewer stated that this would not work on 6mm studs. I was able to use a specialty pair of calipers used for getting into tight spaces; from the stud hole crown to the bottom of the teeth (meaning they would bite all the way into the metal) on the lobe that bites into the stud is 5.75mm. In other words, there is no way this tool would not work on 6mm studs, you could probably get it to work all the way down to 5.8 or so.

Large and solid. Have only used on one marginally stuck stud.
