It was a big step up from my previous Salomons with 82 m.m. wheels and high fitness boots. The somewhat lower cut boot on these K2's took a week or two to get used to, but a person's ankles soon grow accustomed to them, and then they enable you to use more of your calves, quads, and lower back to get more power to the ground. The 100 m.m. wheels roll smoothly and with a little practice a skater will go faster with the same amount of exertion as skates with higher boots and smaller wheels. I had to leave the top holes unlaced to prevent binding on the front of my ankle, and I'm not the only person whose done that with the K2's, but the two other fasteners snug them down nicely. The release for the lower fastener took me a few minutes to figure out how to release but then it was not a problem. In this price range, I think these are excellent skates and I would buy them again!

K2 Radical 100 men's In-Line Skates
So, first thing that must be said is that 100mm wheels can be a little daunting for someone like me. My old skates (which were used hand-me-downs) must have been 84mm or so and you can definitely feel the difference. The longer wheel base takes some getting used to, as I was constantly awkwardly kicking into the ground and other foot with the front wheel because I wasn't used to it jutting out so far.
Also: much harder to turn in 100mm's. And, since you're going faster and have more momentum, much harder to stop. I must have terrible in-line skating technique because I have no idea how to use the brake on the skate and my strategy for slowing down is dragging my skate behind me while it is perpendicular to the direction I'm going. If you want to school me on how to actually stop on skates, feel free to leave a comment.
Overall though, these skates are really nice. The ride is noticeably smoother, due to the larger wheels and higher quality bearings. The lower ankle support takes some getting used to, but I don't even notice any more.
As for sizing, the skate is true to size for me, which is unusual. I wear 7, 7.5 shoes and bought the 7 size of this skate because it was all they had. I was worried it would be on the small side because I'm used to buying one size up for skates, but these are perfect.
1. Light weight
2. Sturdy frame
3. Good ankle support
4. 100 mm wheels make it fast and effortless
5. Unbeatable price on Amazon!
I can not think of any con's yet. So I normally reserve a star or two for some time before I get more experience with the product. But so far this has really been a five star product.
Hi I found that my problem was fit. There was to much play in my boot because my but is ½ size to big. These skates run true to size and some may justify buying one half size smaller for a snugger fit. I watched a video online that a very nice skate store owner named Steve explained if you did end up with a bigger skate the you will need to fill in the space or your foot will slide around in the boot and also that the skates would not perform right. I added ½ plastic Styrofoam folded and shaped using packaging tape to the toes .then I added a new thicker sole and also attached another 1/8 inch Styrofoam sheet to the bottoms of the insoles also using packaging tape.I have trouble with my arches so I also added an arch using Velcro and attaching to top of the insole. I went skating last night and I had a blast fast and much more comfort. So for this reason I'm changing from a 3 star to 4 star. Don't know if I can say the name of the video site but it's the main one and rimes with rude dude! Search How to Choose the Correct Inline Skate Size.I also did as everyone else has advised and lowered the strings down from the top loops and it helped with comfort. A note on the strings I like strings with elastic so I believe I will change the flats strings out because it's hard to get an even snug tie off. Hope this helps you!
Great skates overall and I love the added speed and the fact that I can cross small rocks easier Freddie
