This knife was the cheapest and simplest of the bunch and has worked its way to the top with its lightweight design, ergonomic handle, and ability to function with gloves on. I use it for everything... cutting fuel lines, using the spine to de-bur some aluminum sheet, cutting fishing line, cleaning fish and small game, food prep at camp, and all around basic chores.
The KA BAR Dozier has performed very well as a practical, functional no frills EDC tool. The simple lock design is easily manipulated with gloved hands which is a BIG point for me as I ride motorcycle and winter camp. The flip out styles of some of the newer blades are not good for gloved hands and can deploy in a motorcycle crash/tussle. The simple lock back style is one of the easiest to manipulate with heavy gloves on in my experience.
The blade while not a super steel is more than capable of doing any task I put it to, yes it will require sharpening more frequently but is very easy to put an edge back on. The steel has been very resistant to rust and corrosion even with extended use in water and while cleaning small game and fish.
The one I bought has had no issues with fasteners coming loose or blade lockup, the fastener sizes if you are interested in maintenance or switching the pocket clip to the other side are T-6 for thumb stud and T-10 for the pocket clip and pivot bolt. A quick tip for getting small fasteners loose is to heat them up with the tip of a soldering iron first to loosen any thread locker so you dont break your bit driver.
I highly recommend this knife and if I dropped it in the lake or lost it hunting I would replace it without a second thought !

I've got med-large hands and the grip feels just right for me pretty much any way I try to hold it. The pictures are for a comparison of sizes, bottom up: Opinel 6, Opinel 8, Dozier, Victorinox Alox Pioneer.

I own a few dozen folding knives, most of them in the budget $30-$60 range. I had high expectations for this knife after having read the YT reviews and read the Amazon reviews. I was sorely disappointed.
Sure, this only a $20 knife, so my expectations should be set accordingly, right?
Yeah, but the competition is so fierce at this entry-level price-point that I really can't recommend it.
The many Gerber and Kershaw Made-in-China knives seem like a much better value proposition for me.
Pros:
1. Low price
2. Good brand, KA-BAR.
3. Blade - AUS-8A
4. Construction -- decent, durable, no blade play
5. Light weight
Cons:
1. Very stiff opening action, even after trying to break it in a few days.
2. Back lock metal is sharp -- not rounded and almost dangerous. Ouch!
3. Ugly. I do see the charm of its "function/durable" look, but it's not winning any beauty contests for sure.
4. Flexible handle. The handle material is just a little too flexible for my tastes -- and I prefer synthetic handles mind you.
Recommendation:
Skip this knife. Yes, it will do the job, but I doubt you will enjoy using/owning it in the long run. I'm sure you will be happier with Kershaw's Oso Sweet, Valmara, RJ Tactical, Chill; or an Ontario RAT II in AUS-8. Gerber's LST or E-Z Out might also be a nicer choices.
Using and carrying the Dozier Hunter for a couple days I found it an utter joy to work with. It's a very light, fast deploying, no nonsense folder that while probably not suited for tactical or outdoor batoning of medium to large log use, fills the bill wonderfully as an EDC blade for everyday cutting chores. AUS-8 steel while not the most exotic steel one might ask for is very serviceable in a knife of this kind and lends to the budget price of many knives in the category of the Dozier. It has medium to good edge retention using it for most chores, sharpens very easy; sometimes only needing stropping to bring the edge back, and is pretty rust resistant with proper care. The pocket clip serves well, is easily reversed as is the thumb stud to the opposite side for lefties, but can't be moved to the pivot end for tip down carry (not a deal breaker for me). The handle scales are Zytel and while not G10 afford good traction in my hand while not being too rough and sharp so as to be uncomfortable using it. Comparing the Dozier to other knives in its class I would have no problem recommending it to anyone. If you're not that proficient with thumb studs or find them awkward as some do, the Dozier thumb hole model might work better for you although I personally prefer the Hunter with the thumb stud. All in all however you just can't go wrong with either blade at less than $20 as and every day pocket knife..

No le he dado un uso muy rudo ya que el acero no tiene la mejor retención de filo, pero es muy fácil de reafilar.
