good power supply. Not pleased with connectors

good power supply. Not pleased with connectors
I dislike the binding terminals. see image 2 on how I insert the wires? No holes inside to secure to prevent short. I replaced the connectors (found in amazon) in pix 4 (top is original, bottom is new one I replaced with), which has hole inside. final pix shows how I route wire safely and easier. Other than that, I am pleased with the power supply.

The short version is that this PSU does a good job and I recommend it. Now for the long version.

I tested the power supply with an oscilloscope and had good results. It's a switching power supply so there is always some usual switching frequency noise, but it's not bad and is in line with all the other switch mode PSUs on my workbench. Including some rather good quality ones. I think somebody else posted photos with their test gear connected so I'll spare everybody a repeat.

Cooling fan is temperature controlled and was quiet during all my testing.

Inside mine had all good looking solder joints and nothing that I needed to redo. Wiring and grounding were all correct. If you've ever opened a cheap Chinese device you know that sometimes they cut corners on assembly but this was spot on.

Mine was able to deliver 30+ volts at 7+ amps during my tests, no issues. I don't have a big enough test load to test up to the full 10A but I don't have any doubts that it can deliver.

Selecting the voltage or amperage you desire can be a bit difficult. The coarse knobs are REALLY coarse and the fine knobs don't go very far. Once set though they do stay and the voltage did not drop under load.

Current limiting is not very responsive and I've seen it overshoot before clamping down. If you're going to rely on this to catch transient current spikes you may be disappointed. For constant current applications (LEDs) it seems fine though. No audible CLICK like old linear power supplies.

Changeable between adjustable voltage mode, and constant current modes. This allows you to, for example, charge a lipo battery on constant current up until 4.0 volts, and then on constant voltage mode until 4.2 volts.
This is my first experience using a dc power supply and I’m excited to keep using it and learning more about it and how it works.
This will come in very handy for school electronics projects where I currently have no access to the maker labs due to Covid.
It’s worked great for me thus far, no complaints! To me, this seems like a pretty good option for a dc power supply.

30V 10A units is nice and works will. Well built. If you don't need to make frequent adjustments to voltage and amps settings then great unit. That apply to lot of the power supplies on the market designed like this unit. Great looking and easy to read display. Super light. Short comings and for me kinda safety issue is that there is no way to turn on and off DC output without turning off the whole unit. To set starting amperage point you have to short circuit connection to see set value. If you want to set fine adjustment for volt and amp then need to set fine knobs in the middle so you can adjust up and down. For safety start with all knobs all the way down to the left. You can live adjust volt and amps. If powering output device like led lights you can see active volt/amps (how may volt and amp using) but cannot set the preset values. If you want to change preset values then must disconnect everything to see voltage preset and short circuit to change amps preset. I bought this unit first then for 11 more dollars I got the Rockseed HM3010P. Way better unit for the money that is programmable. Can see all values with push button on the front panel (live volts, live amps, preset volts, preset amp, OVP and OCP. See my review on it.

First impression after I got it was the PS is so light. I thought it would be a cheap low quality power supply. But after some use and testing. The ripple is actually pretty low. I see no difference between a linear power supply and this one. The voltage tunning switches are sensitive and easy to use. So if you want a lightweight switching power supply. This is a good one.

Tested it with a multimeter and the voltage output is accurate. I put this to work immediately testing and prepping my current custom PC build. Used it to test the case fans and run the water cooling pump before the other components were installed. Using PrimoChill's new system prep kit for the water cooling loop took days of constant running. The voltage didn't vary any more than 3/100 of a volt; sometimes going up or down slightly. Even the USB plug on the front got put to use charging my phone. This power supply is one of the best tools I've gotten recently for my new workbench. My only criticism would be the noise of the cooling fan. It sounds exactly like a quieter version of my heat gun. It's noticeable. It's a standard 80mm, 12v fan so it's fixable for me.

I like the easy to read digital displays and that it comes with an assortment of connectors. The unit seems well made and has some weight to it if that is an indication of quality materials I accept that. So far I have used it o power my hot wire foam cutter and the unit is easy to adjust for that just right heat setting. Once set I can turn it off and on several times and the voltage and amp settings are repeatable.

At first, this power supply worked fine. I was using it to top-balance some lithium power cells. The problem started when I switched it from constant voltage to constant current mode. It switched over to constant current mode just fine... but now, it refuses to switch back to constant voltage mode. I've tried everything. I followed the instructions in the user manual to the letter. Yes, I tried disconnecting the load first. I tried everything under the sun... and yet, when you reconnect the load, the unit goes right back to constant current mode, which means it won't let me adjust its output voltage at all. I will be returning this useless piece of garbage to Amazon today, for a full refund.

I have this unit in service about a week. I purchased it as there was a fair amount of drift on the incoming a.c. Service. This is used for two way radio communications. I have it set for voltage control at 13.8 volts. While more stable than my incoming a.c. the drift on d.c. has only been 13.79 to 13.81 max even when the mike is keyed. Good unit for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars good power supply

this power supply is amazing. i love it. test leads are kinda low quality but they work perfect for battery testing, diagnostics for smaller electronics, and capacitor testing. the terminal caps on the supply can unscrew in case the banana clips become faulty, and to put the test leads on. the power supply itself is smaller than i previously assumed, and also much lighter. but this power supply is still a beast.
NOTE: current can only be adjusted when a load is connected properly. which i use to detect if a connection is wrong and GND has triggered. the USB port on the supply is fast charge. 5 stars
