Cyclone LEDs are a multi-functional and compact auxiliary LED lighting solution. Originally designed for Off Road Racers as an interior dome light, the Cyclone LED light has evolved into an all purpose light for rock crawling, engine bays, wheel wells, truck beds, grills, bumpers and an infinite amount of lighting applications. This is due to its compact 2.2" diameter, flat .53" height and bright flood pattern.

These lights have never been submerged, they have only been subjected to water splashing up from the road during normal driving. I'm disappointed that they don't seem to stand up to rain after claiming they are IP68 rated.
In conclusion, these are great while they last, but expect to have to replace them once a year if you use them as rock lights.
I have a hood sound damper and heat dissipater. To install lights I measured a similar srea for each light and used box cutters to cut a 1 in x 1 in square out of this material. Then I removed the top 4 clips that hold in place this liner. I then ran the wiring from the battery, to the light locations, down and out the bottom right side of the hood, and forward to the push to close switch location. This location is shown in the pictures. I recommend using this switch as well as the light sensor. I sm akso going to install an on/off switch (to turn off in the dark when I want) and an on/off switch that bypasses the light sensor switch (to turn the lights on when its not quite dark enough to trip light sensor).

BRIGHTNESS: These are bright. If you look right at it, it hurts. If it's not enough light, you can add another. I bought the clear and they deliver plenty of light to cover the full span of the engine compartment from a central placement.
CONSTRUCTION: Appears solidly built, well constructed and weather ready. Wiring is good and does not feel cheap or flimsy.
VALUE: Yeah, $30 for one of these is steep. LED's are cheap and readily available everywhere...you pay a premium for these, but no one else gives you the KC warranty (23 years) and human customer service interface. Maybe i'm simply too old to tolerate cheap junk...but will stand by the old adage that you get what you pay for...in the case of these KC Cyclone lights, they seem well worth the extra few bucks...simply for the peace of mind.
KC has been around since 1970 and continue to get better and better in my opinion. I've been off-roading in some form or fashion my whole life, the only downside to these KC Cyclones is that I didn't think of the idea first.
I now have less than 1/3 of the LEDs inside this light working, making it more or less useless. Time to try a different light. I definitely do not recommend these for under-hood use based on my experience.
I've had one installed under the hood of my JK for about a year. It doesn't get much use but today I noted that several of the LED's are not working. It's difficult to see in the picture because the light is very bright, but I'm not too impressed with the longevity.
I installed them in my 05' TJ Jeep Wrangler. With a small washer, they fit using the same screw that seated the old light... Plug and play.
I had the idea to install them as my dome lights. THEY FIT RIGHT IN! I modified the housing a little where the old bulb used to fit. Once I did that, it fit in perfectly.
These lights are also (seemingly) well made, pretty bright, but disperse the light well.
I plan on also installing these as auxiliary reverse lights and possibly under-jeep rock lights
Over all, you cannot go wrong for the money.
Friend uses them as a dome like in his RZR XP4. compared to my baja designs done light. the cyclones are easily twice as bright.
i am ordering 2 more for inside my cross box, then wire them to the upfitter siwtcher.
i have been pressure washing these light for a good year, they have been covered in mud. super tough.
