However, the reason I cannot give 5 stars is that the dash cam is used primarily in two settings, while driving & while parked (if your vehicle can provide power while not running). My dash cam is hard wired to the vehicle providing constant power to the DX2. Unfortunately, when driving I have to go through multiple adjustments to the settings in order to re-establish my preferred driving options. Once again when parking I have to go back through all the menus to make the necessary setting changes in order to operate the camera while parked (Motion Detection – on, Gravity Sensing – high & Screen Saver – 30 seconds). Otherwise the vehicle battery will drain if I were to retain the driving settings (always on) while my vehicle is parked at the office for 8 hours.
The DX2 would be much more user friendly if there were a simple single transition between driving and parking modes that allowed the user to establish preset preferences for driving and for parking; rather than making the changes every time I park the vehicle and each time I begin driving.
Is anyone else making multiple setting adjustments daily?
This isn’t the type of device you would be copying off the videos regularly, unless for some specific reason.
So as such I’ve just needed this device to get a clip of an accident, but when I go to copy it off, the video files are all screwed up and the most recent driving is no where to be found.
It looks like the date has reset itself at some point. So now because it’s got totally inferior and retarded software algorithms, it’s recording a video with a time stamp of 2012-01-01 and then because the stupid thing reset itself at some point, it’s not overwriting the video files with a time stamp of 2017-12-04 etc.... it’s in a constant loop of overwriting the newest file, but because it has no way of actually knowing the real oldest video clip, all my recent driving IS NOT RECORDED!!!!
I seriously am so annoyed. This is like purchasing an insurance product and then finding out all along you were never actually insured.
Is there anything that this company can do to fix this? Nope, I need the frigging recording that the device has overwritten!
So basically like some other reviews pointed out, unless you want to set the date on this thing on a daily basis, I would say DO NOT PURCHASE this product.
I should have listened to the folks who gave this thing bad reviews. I plugged the power cord in to my 12V socket and got a reassuring blue light, then plugged power to the unit. A tiny red LED popped on in the top left corner of the rear panel (I thought that meant power was received). Poked the ON button, nothing. Poked and held for 5 seconds, nothing. 10 seconds. 20. A MINUTE. All I got was that little red light. The manual says that if the internal battery is completely depleted, the unit may need a few seconds to raise the charge level in the battery before the unit will boot. Fair enough. I left it plugged in and drove 50 minutes across town to get tacos (they're worth the drive), then all the way home, then started the process again.
Same red light. Disconnected/reconnected power, removed SD card, hit the reset button with a paper clip, blah blah blah. Two hours of jacking with it and the result was a
...and that's it. If I had the wherewithal to start a company, hire engineers, design, market and sell something as complex as a dashcam, I think at the very least I'd have my minions PLUG THE DANG THING IN before I boxed it just to see if the thing worked. So hey, folks, good luck. I read reviews from TechRadar, CNET, Tom's Hardware, digitaltrends, PCMagazine, Amazon, and a few others before deciding that this one just might be worth it. Nope. Another broken cannonball.

The packaging is an indication of the quality of the product inside.
The instruction manual is well written and easy to understand.
I like the black camera body, as it makes it very inconspicuous from outside the vehicle.
The rear facing camera is a 'must have' for me on the congested roads I use, it's very reassuring to know I have overall coverage of 290 degrees around my car.
The picture quality is the best I have experienced on any dash-cam to date.
The on screen set-up menu is concise and extremely easy to use.
A major plus for me is the inclusion of the CPL (polarising) filter, as I spend a lot of time driving in southern Europe. My previous dash-cams often failed to cope with strong sunlight, resulting in poor quality recordings, which were certainly not good enough to support an insurance claim.
THE KDLINKS DX2 IS A GOOD BUY AND IT DELIVERS!
