My husband loves the fit of Keen shoes--he has a very high instep and very wide feet, and Keen shoes seem customized for him. These shoes are great if you work in conditions where you're on your feet a lot, and don't know what to expect from your work environment--water, soot, grease, sparks--they handle all of that an d still look great.

Because the footbed is so stable, he doesn't miss the ankle support a more conventional work boot would have. Work boots actually bother his ankles a bit because his bones stick out so much, and these don't rub them. I would highly recommend Keen's if you're on your feet a lot and have high arches, and these in particular if you work in some kind of fabrication setting, like an artist's studio, welding shop, hot glass studio, or kitchen.

I do love this shoe, but it is a little tight on top. Be sure and order at least 1/2 size bigger than your regular shoe size. I am a 10.5 and ordered a 11. I hope the top streches out over time.

I'm a picky shoe buyer and these are the most comfortable shoes I've ever worn. I have a wider foot, size 13, and these fit like a glove. The first night I wore them I didn't want to take them off when I got home! The color is perfect, not quite black more of a dark brown - a little darker than the picture. I had tried on the NoPo boot, which was a tight fit, but the low is the way to go.

I started wearing, and falling in love with, Keen Targhee II's on a trip to Alaska in 2009, at the recommendation of a shoe salesgirl who felt they would suit my foot shape (narrow heel, wide toes, with a mild, but sensitive, "hammer toe" on right foot) and would be waterproof and well cushioned enough for the light hiking and travel in rainy places we planned.

Her recommendation was excellent, and I have since worn out four pairs. I am 6'3" and weigh 250 lb., so I put shoes to the test.

My Targhee II's last me about two years before they become too "spongy" (alternating between two pairs, in practically daily use).

Before going on a trip to Paris for a couple of weeks with my wife, after which I went to Spain for a couple more weeks, on my own, I was looking for some more dressy shoes that would still be very comfortable for extensive standing in museums and galleries, and the kind of extensive walking I like to do when traveling.

I was delighted to see Keen had finally come out with some mostly leather, "dressier" shoes that are not totally "butt ugly". Thanks to excellent prices in my size on Amazon, I sprang for a black and brown pair.

I have now worn them extensively, putting many (well over 160/100) kilometers/miles on each pair while in France and Spain, which included a LOT of time on cobblestones, and could not be more pleased with them.

My wife and daughters actually complimented me on how "nice looking" they are, but I think that is only because they are less ugly, in their eyes, than the Ecco's I wore for years, before I discovered Keens.

Had these for a little over a week now. This is my first pair of Keens but I've read and heard good things about them so I stepped out in faith and got them(pun intended). The reason I got this particular model is because I really don't like the look of some of the others with the goofy looking toe guard. These do look great just what I wanted kind of like a cross between a shoe and a boot. They look kind of dressy too(I wore them to a wedding last weekend). Most importantly they are very comfortable. The reviews I read suggested getting a half size bigger so I got an 11 instead of my normal 10.5. They fit great. I only reason I'm holding back a star is because I want to see how long they last.

I found Keen shoes to be just the thing for my painful feet. These were comfortable right out of the box. They fit just like my other Keen shoes so I can buy online with confidence. They are ruggedly built and appear to be flawless. Good looking for what is essentially a shortie work boot. I couldn't be happier.

I've enjoyed three other pairs of Keens (2 Austins and one other similar) and was looking forward to this one because it's made in the USA. I have somewhat wide, flat feet, and am developing bunions, but the other Keens have been the first shoes that were actually comfortable for me.

I had tried to buy this pair locally but my store kind of lost their minds and I got tired of the hassle (partly described below), but I had seen it in the store and wanted to give it another try. I bought these here and they were shipped fairly quickly. I tried them in the house for a couple of days, but they pinched my feet at the widest part. The toe box in this shoe is not as wide as the Austins. Also, the part around the ankle is short and doesn't feel like it's giving me support. Too bad, I really liked the look of this shoe, and the fact that it's made here.

By the way, one of the hassles with my store wasn't really their fault. I had ordered the shoes and they were backordered a month. When they finally came in there was a size 9.5 in the 12 box. Luckily they had gotten 2 size 12's in, but when I opened the second box, I saw that the one of the shoes was damaged: the leather had been crimped and would not pop out. Come on Keen, if you want people to pay $50 extra for American made shoes, put some care into your final packaging.

I ended up returning this to Amazon. Hopefully they will refund the entire amount. This shoe has been a minor nightmare for me.
