I bought him this pair of insulated Keen's and also bought him the Keen Utility Men's Wenatchee Non- Insulated work boot for him. I purchased both of them in the bigger size: 12 EE US.
They fit him PERFECTLY! He is SOO happy with them. He says they are the most comfortable boots he has ever owned. He said they feel good wherever he is working and his feet not only feel dry and have room to breathe, are warm, but they also ARE COMFORTABLE. That is what I wanted for him! That was good to hear him say! Bravo to Keen!
I bought him $200 boots two years ago that were not wide enough, not supportive enough, not cushioned enough but they rated #2 on the top work boots for Electricians. They were good for a few weeks, like any new boot, but didn't stay comfortable for long.
My husband said he will never buy another boot. This is coming from a skeptic. He said he will only purchase Keen and support them. He said this pair is more insulated aka warmer, than the Wenatchee pair I got him but the Wenatchee pair isnt insulated so it is supposed to be cooler. He's been wearing these this summer/fall. He loves them both! He loves that both are EH rated for Electrical safety and that they are comfortable, look good, wear well, and will last.
THANK YOU TO KEEN! I think you have saved my husband from working discomfort. That is PRICELESS!!!
They were much bulkier than I expected, I thought they looked like Frankenstein boots when I first put them on but I've gotten used to that. They are extremely warm and I can see why they are so highly regarded North of here. I think there are two reasons they are so comfortable. One, the padding and lining are excellent and really seem to form fit to your foot after breaking them in. The other is the thick sole. It really seems to absorb shock when walking.
If you buy these boots, give them a chance to break in a little. I found little things about them that were different like bumping the pedals in my truck when braking then accelerating or accidentally kicking corners and things when I walked around (you can't feel it, the composite toe is awesome) because I wasn't used to their size yet. Just little things like that which you do get used to rather quickly. Now that they have continued to break in, I wouldn't trade them for any of your other boot brands, and if I do wear them out I'll buy another pair. For any of you that are sizing online, I had reservations about which size to get. Normally I wear a 12 medium but with some shoes a 13 medium is more comfortable. I decided to go with the 12's and they fit perfectly and even seem to form to your feet after wearing them some time. I would highly recommend!
