The Grition cover my foot more, which I like, and the fabric is thinner, so should dry quickly, although not as durable.
THE GRITION HAVE A VELCRO ADJUSTABLE BACK STRAP!!! No idea why the Keens don't have this! Easy to put on, and you aren't tugging at the material to slide it over your heel. This will eventually loosen the Keens and not allow them to fit your foot as well. Honestly like the adjustable fit on these more than the Keens.
The Keens rubber toe is more substantial.
I do not like how the inside sole feels on the Grition, the part that your foot sits on. They are rubber with little nubs, actually more of a raised grid pattern. The nubs will definitely irritate my feet, and I feel that the rubber will make my feet sweat. The inside of the Keens are a softer, more matte rubber. Way more comfortable, in my opinion.
The Keens are not as attractive to me, but the upper shoe material is more of a nylon base covered in thick canvas cloth, and will definitely hold up longer than the Grations. It's a very hard toss, but I can only keep one. I think either one is a good option. Both have their pluses and minuses.
I need these for hiking and kayaking in Costa Rica, so I'm forced to go with the ones I feel will hold up better, which are these Keens. If you aren't going to be using them for anything rough, you should save a few dollars and get the Gritions. They aren't bad at all.
PERFECTLY AWESOME! Seems to be a popular shoe there in CR too as I saw a LOT of women wearing this same style. I actually wore them on the plane and back home as well. Much easier to wear than to pack in a carry on which is all I took. Wore them zip lining, hiking through the rain forest...on the beach, out and about. Just an all around great shoe that I am so glad I purchased! Also to note, that the toe is considered covered with this shoe, so when I went zip lining I had no issues with them saying closed toe shoes required. Now these bad boys will be with me for my 2 weeks backpacking through New Zealand in March!
However after I had bought them did I see all the comments around them being too small and to size up, so as soon as they arrived I tried them on and they fit PERFECT. I ordered in a 7.5 womens because that's what I wear in a running shoe (wear a 7 in most ladies sandals, heels etc). They were not too tight AT ALL. I plan to wear them all day one day this weekend to see how my feet hold up in normal situation. Although I ordered them specifically for vacation in Costa Rica as I will be hiking etc.
About the fit: I bought my true size both times, and both times, the sandals fit snugly initially (meaning they DID fit, but snugly, with no room to spare). BUT after wearing them a few weeks, they stretched out and were PERFECT. So personally, I'm happy getting my true size with these sandals. But I know some people prefer going a half size up for a looser fit.
The grip is good. They look good. My best purchase of 2016, definitely.

I haven't worn them on a hike yet. But can imagine that they do a fine job, especially in hotter climates. I was in Malta for 2 weeks and all my hikes were along the cost and I was so determined to get my feet in the water to cool down. I really love my hiking boots but when you are in a warmer region and still need good protection because of the rocky terrain, its probably wise to have hiking sandals that also cover your toes. My rather cheap pair of sandals broke down and the toes were not protected so I did not use them for hiking. As far as I can see the KEENs are solid and well made.
Looking forward to the next hike on Gozo (have 3 hikes left) and those sandals will be on my feet.
They tend to be quite small. The manufacturer recommends half a size bigger but I think even a whole size bigger would fit better. I will buy another one in a different colour. The design is quite stylish for a trekking sandal. Highly recommended.
