I'm a big guy in my late 40s who's been raised on eating lots of the less-healthy stuff. At least, found a book with recipes I enjoy eating, that are very healthy and I feel like I don't have to compromise health for an enjoyable meal anymore. We had to order a few ingredients off amazon before we got started but already have some family favorites in there! Thank you!
As much as I love Carrie and her great recipes, I was a little disappointed in this book. Nothing was really "new". The book is a lot smaller/thinner than you'd think, and the book seems full of pulled meat/chili and other recipes that one can make in a skillet a lot faster, and similar recipes that are all over the net on Keto blogs. I'm sure the recipes are great in themselves, but I was hoping Carrie would introduce some new stuff to Keto followers rather than typical chili and pulled pork and beef. I will buy her next book, though. Also, you will need Konjac for pretty much everything.
A total winner. Have not yet used a recipe from this book that the kids did not scarf down and ask for more. What little I was able to freeze does well and makes a nice microwave lunch at the office. Didn't get much though because my kids love it so much they will microwave leftovers every chance they get. For me, again, easy! I love simple. I do not like a lot of pots to clean, I like being able to put many of these into the pot and ignore it while it cooks. The one I did that required a bit of preparation, well, that was so good I am eagerly looking forward to doing it again. So nice when the results are worth the effort.
I'm making one more of the recipes from this great cookbook ...can't wait to taste it I'm sure it will be the best flavor ever. If your on the keto way of life this is a must have especially if you don't have all that much time to prepare meals.. Like me, I'm on the go more then home..
