Nice Soft Touch Alternative

I'd give this product 4.5 stars if I could, but my complaints don't warrant a full star knock. My OEM battery cover had become worn, with a slight chip/crack in one corner (one too many drops) and the lettering had all but disappeared. I was looking for something that would add some texture to the phone to prevent sliding out of my pockets as much - without adding an ugly case.

This product fits the bill nicely. The soft touch (not really "rubberized") back is really pleasant to the touch. I like this surface and wich more electronics used it. It doesn't get smudged with fingerprints, and feels high-end. It looks great on my blue S3 - but I could see it being ugly on a white one.

Only complaints are that it adds a slight amount of weight to phone (some might like this, considering how light the S3 is usually) and it adds a tiny amount of width to the phone. This will render it unusable for form-fitting accessories/cradles/etc - none of which I use. It also has a slightly larger "gap" between the back and the phone itself, whereas the regular cover fit more snugly. This may become an issue the longer I have it, as dust and debris may accumulate in there.

Overall, I love it - and it's breathed some new life into an aging phone.

I just barely put the back on my phone and it is gives a decent first impression.

As stated in other reviews it is slightly thicker then the original back which makes the phone feel a little sturdier. I think this extra thickness is also what causes a very slight but noticeable gap around the entire edge between the phone and the back. The gap is enough I can feel it and get my nail to catch on it. The back fits very well to the phone and is not the cause of the gap. The texture of the back has a slightly better feel then the original, but I have noticed it gets dirty fairly easy.

For less than $10, including shipping, you can't get much better than this battery cover replacement. As described, it has a textured coating which allows you a better grip on the Galaxy S3, and keeps it from sliding around so much when you, say, put it down on a car seat. The fit is very tight, and eliminates one of my issues with the stock cover: squeaking noises. It's also maybe 1/4 of a millimeter thicker than the stock cover, so it protects the camera lens even more, but I don't know how that VERY minor difference would affect very tight cases.
If there's a downside, it's the vast expanse of black this thing imparts to the back of the phone; pretty boring, but as that's an aesthetic preference, it doesn't affect my rating. Please note that boring doesn't mean ugly, because it's not. It would be cool if they could get colors that approximate the originals, though.
All in all, I feel this was a great purchase, especially considering the price.

POS. Not runbberized at all. They apparently sent me something different than some of the other reviewers because mine also has no logo on it. Just looks like the worlds cheapest back that someone painted with flat black spray paint. It still slides in my hand and also looks bad. it was already scuffed when i got it but 30 minutes after having it on the phone it looks like a car ran over it because when i set it down the flat black part gets shiny. its going in the trash. if I could afford to waste time chasing a refund for $10 I would. Oh well. I've bought a lot of stuff on amazon and this was the first thing I was ever dissatisfied with. I can probably afford the loss considering all the money I have saved.

Let me begin on a positive note and say this battery cover is very nice. The look, the feel is exactly what Samsung should offer. Holding your phone will no longer feel like trying to hold ice. That said, the back just doesn't fit. It doesn't snap flush. There are gaps all around the phone. This means that dust and moisture can easily get in. This made me uncomfortable so it is useless.

I was unhappy with the original back cover to my ATT galaxy s3, so I went searching and found this. I was pleasantly surprised by this back cover. Other reviewers are correct when they say it isnt "grippy" like you'd expect something rubbery to be. This is more of a soft touch coating. It definitely helps it to slip around less.

I have noticed no major fitting problems of the back cover. I can also confirm that this cover will fit the wireless palm pixi charging sticker (along with the copper coil, chip, and magnets). With the touchstone thing it is a very tight fit, it just barely fully attaches.

My only complaint is that it's either pink or black. I wish there were blue and white versions

This cover fits very nicely. No issue snapping it in place. I've had it for a couple of weeks it's still perfect.
I like the soft rubber touch, it's less slippery than the original and makes it less risky to drop. It replaces the back of the phone, so it's won't offer protection.
It's elegant in my opinion and improves the phone's look.
