This seems to be a weak link with the Galaxy Tab. This cable is working so far. Be very careful with it and you may get a long service life. The cable itself isn't as thick or robust as some others I own for my Micro USB devices. I was not able to find anything 6 feet in length with a heavy cable.

If you have troubles with your 10.1 being dead and unresponsive, just giving a strange blink of the battery icon when plugged in, it is not responding to charging either. Samsung is aware of this, or atleast a support person said to me that they were. It is best to not let it drain down to nothing. CHARGE IT before it goes to nothing.

If unresponsive, pressing the power and volume up together should force it to see it's charger. Frustrating, I know. You may have to do this several times and leave it on charge for a day or so. Note that it will eventually start to charge as indicated by the battery charge indicator on the screen.

I ordered this cable as a spare ( I wanted a long cable ), and to rule out a bad cable as the root of my dead tablet issue shared above. Both the cable I thought was bad and this new one charge just fine. I make sure to charge the tablet to 100% every few days or when it gets below 50%.

Not sure what went wrong with this cable but it only lasted about 6 weeks and then it would no longer charge my Samsung 10.1. The 10.1 indicated it was plugged in but it had a red X across the battery Icon. I am hard on cables but 6 weeks seemed a bit short. The OEM cable started doing this after 11 months and a new OEM cable worked fine at that point. Probably a wire broke inside near the Samsung connector. This cable seemed lighter weight then the OEM one.

I brought this cable when I bought the unit originally and when it failed I just started using a USB extension cable as it was a lot cheaper and can be used for other things. These cables both seemed to go bad on the Samsung connector side, having it on the bottom of the unit seems like it might stress it more then if it were located somewhere else. And before you suggest I just flip the 10.1 over note that I play a lot of robo defense and it doesn't flip over, it's locked in one position no matter how you hold the 10.1.

In any case I wouldn't waste my money on this one, just buy a long USB extension cable and then use the OEM cables.

I have ordered this charging cable for my son's Galaxy Tablet four times now. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with the cable that I can see; every time I get one it works just fine. The problem is my son, who is so hard on his things that I am surprised his tablet still works even after a year and a half. A charging cable will last him about 3 months, and the price of this cord, usually around 7 dollars, is inexpensive enough that I can get him a new cord when he needs one.

As I mentioned before, when I get a cable it works just fine. When the cable stops working, it is not the fault of the cable. Due to this, I cannot comment on how long the cord will work when it is taken care of properly. For my needs, though, it's easy to get and inexpensive. When my son mutilates his current cord, I will definitely get him another one of these charging cords.

This is my second ~6ft cable intended for a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1. The first, Aduro Samsung Galaxy Tablet Extra Long USB Charge & Sync Data Cable (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008AJNF78), has done an admirable job. Unfortunately, the KHOMO cable has a notably inferior Samsung connector. Yes, it fits. Yes, it stays in the device. However, there is a minute difference between it and the connector on an OEM cable or even the aforementioned Aduro cable which makes it difficult to plug in --- every time. Whether it's too large or misshaped is unclear. It technically works (I've only used it for charging, but I assume that data works as well) but if you actually need to commonly connect/disconnect the device from this cable I recommend you look elsewhere... you'll be frustrated.

The charging cable that came with the tablet was really short. I tried using a cable that looked like it would work, but was really for an Ipad. Connections are different. This one connects and gives me enough length I can continue using while it charges. Didn't have any expectations about how fast it takes to charge, so can't say if it is fast or slow. It just does the job. My tablet is a Samsung Galaxy tab 2.1. The charger for my last tablet overheats if left in an outlet and burns itself out. This one stays cool so I leave it plugged in. The KHOMO label on one side of the connection makes it easy to plug in right side up too.

This was a purchase to get a replacement for a Galaxy Tab (1st Generation).
The cable appears to work perfectly with the original Samsung travel adapter rated as 5V 2A. The battery indicator on the tablet appeared to be no different and the unit charged as expected.

Using the cable with a USB 1.0 and 2.0 port on a desktop gave the same indications as an original Samsung cable. The battery indicator showed blue at the positive end followed by the lightning bolt charge indication with a red "x" to the right of it by the negative end of the battery indicator. The tablet charged using the USB ports but it was slow as expected. The USB to PC may take 10 hours to charge. The USB to Samsung charger takes approximately 6 hours. With the USB to PC, the tablet needs to be off as the unit will be draining the power needed to charge the battery.

Had to replace short of 1 year

I had to buy another one to replace the first after less than 1 year of non-strenuous use (on my nightstand, no cable stress). The wires had started to pull out of the tablet end of the cable because the rubber boot had separated from the plastic, exposing the wires.

Both of the cables have the KHOMO logo in white letters on a piece of clear cellophane tape. The new cable is losing the tape.

I think both problems are due to poor workmanship, and that's why the 2-star rating. Electrically it works fine for charging; I can't rate it its ability to transfer data. I'd like to find another source for the 6-ft cable. If not, I can and have used a USB extension with the OEM short cable.
