I used Ariat ATS insole with Minus33 Merino Socks.
I am disappointment, because I really liked these boots for comfort and arch support and did great in the snow and ice. But, our weather warmed up and snow is melting... walking across water and slush, the boots leaked. The inside arch side of the boot has a stitch line and leaks water. IS NOT "100% waterproof". Hope they fix this problem. See pics.
are comfortable. We have had several rainy days, and my feet have stayed dry and warm. I can't think of one thing to complain
about. For the price of these boots, you can't go wrong.
To make matters worse, the dye on the inside of the boot rubs off and stains his socks a gross red/copper color. We are in the process of requesting a full refund. We are sending these back.
I have attached photo proof. Although admittedly low quality photography (how do you clearly capture the inside of a dark boot?) I think you will be able to see what I mean. We really wanted to like these. The other reviews are extremely misleading. I'll admit that we purchased these mainly based on other reviews. These boots seem fine if you are going to wear them casually for an hour or two without much walking or traffic, or rain and snow but if you plan to use these for work or for any extended amount of time, these are a poor choice. A total "get what you pay for" kind of purchase.
For the price and in a pinch, I don't have a problem with these boots. If you are in a place that gets constant snow/ice/cold, then I would look at buying a more expensive pair, as I don't think the build quality in these will be constant. I imagine that there are buyers here that have perfectly constructed pair of these boots, but it's going to be inconsistent.
For my immediate needs, these worked out well and I won't know for sure until this coming winter if they are in fact defected from the factory, but for the price, the kept my feet warm (for the most part) and didn't tear the bottoms of my feet up with the miles of DC walking.
Oh, which reminds me. The left boot. The material that would be above your left ankle bone did start to cut into the top of my ankle if I cut corners too tightly. Again, these are cheap boots and should have expectations that match accordingly. Maybe breaking them in by hand before putting them on would soften up the material.
