Precision Miter Gauge System
Why spend your time calibrating a miter gauge when you can get amazing accuracy right out of the box? Our Precision Miter Gauge System requires no calibrating, and features positive stops at 0°, 10°, 22½°, 30° and 45° to make it easy to cut accurate miters quickly.
Of course, when you do want to cut a more complicated angle, the easy-to-use Vernier scale allows for fast adjustments to 1/10th of a degree.
Plus, the Precision Miter Gauge System offers a long, anodized-aluminum fence and stop system that let you easily make accurate, repeatable cuts.
One Miter Gauge with Everything You Need for Accuracy
Perfect Miters, Fast!
We worked to build accuracy into every feature of this product, from the rugged aluminum fence to the solid yet versatile Swing Stop, to the easy-to-use yet amazingly accurate Vernier scale. With all of its great features, this miter gauge will give you better, more accurate cuts to ensure project success.
Precision Lens Cursor
Similar to the type of lens found on a quality table saw rip fence, the clear lens features a high-visibility red line that makes it easy to set the Swing Stop for precise cuts, time after time.
No Play in the Miter Slot
Our extremely straight 24" (610mm) anodized-aluminum bar is 3/8" (9.5mm) thick by 3/4" (19mm) wide and features five bar adjusters that you can use to eliminate 'play' in the miter slot with the turn of a screwdriver.
The Swing Stop slides effortlessly along the fence of the Precision Miter Gauge and locks securely into place with the turn of a knob. It also features a curved foot that lets you easily swing the stop temporarily out of the way without having to remove it.

Cut perfect miters consistently with Kreg's Precision Miter Gauge System. A number of unique features makes this one of the most precise miter gauges on the market today. Factory calibrated accuracy starts with a gauge head that is machined on a computerized milling machine for absolute precision. An easy-to-read Vernier scale enables precise angle adjustments up to 1/10th of a degree. Five patented bar adjusters take up the play in the miter slot for a perfect fit. A 24" fence section with patented Swing Stop and self-adhesive measuring tape is included. Factory calibrated.
Weve found that even on high-end saws, the miter gauge is sometimes not the best it could be a situation easily resolved by the folks at Kreg. You probably know them for their ingenious pocket hole system, but this miter gauge is worthy of fame in its own right.
Its not like any weve seen before, with a handful of features that work together to give you the ability to set an angle cut accurately to 1/10th of a degree and beyond that, to adjust to 1/100th of a degree (hats off to you if youre that precise!)
Setup takes a little bit of time and patience, but the results are well worth it. Its got a super accurate length scale with a magnifying lens cursor, similar to those on good table saws, and the curved flip stop can be used with the fence as is, or you and a pair of pliers can modify it easily for permanent use with a sacrificial fence. This clever curved design lets you slide your stock right under it. The slot bar has five patented nylon screws along its length that let you custom fit it to your table saw slot, completely eliminating any play.
Its got the positive stops you expect, at 0, 22.5, 30 and 45 degrees, and theyre marked by preset holes that accept a tapered brass pin, which locks in the angle with absolute precision. The gauge is marked with diamonds every five degrees for great legibility, too. But what sets this gauge apart from the pack is its Vernier scale, allowing you to set any angle in tenth-of-a-degree increments. Unless you have a degree in mathematics, dont try to understand the process its confusing and non-intuitive. Instead, just follow the step-by-step directions, and youll get absolute accuracy every time.
And when Kreg calls something a "micro-adjustment" mechanism, they really mean micro. With this miter gauge, you can actually increase your angle by 1/100th of a degree by turning a nylon screw that increases the space between the fence and the gauge. For each .001 inch you put between the fence and gauge, you increase your angle by 1/100th of a degree.
Kregs really hit the accuracy bullseye with this miter gauge, and adding it to even a so-so saw will give you fantastic results. Take your time with setup and follow the directions for the Vernier scale, and youll be as taken with it as we are. -- Kris Jensen-Van Heste

The set up was easy and calibrating it took only a few minutes. I used a digital caliper by Calculated Industries Calculated Industries 7408 AccuMASTER 6-Inch Digital Caliper; Fractional (1/64ths) + Inch + Metric with Largest Display Digits for Woodworkers, Stainless Steel, IP54 to tweak in cuts of scrap. Once dialed it, it cut like a charm.
I think the price to quality ratio is good. I used an OEM Delta miter gauge for years and was happy, but wanted to beef it up this time. Maybe not for the professional cabinet maker, but it certainly will not disappoint.
I own a Grizzly G0700 sliding table saw, which is a right-tilting table saw and with a non-standard T-slot so I had to make do with the OEM miter gauge, which means constant trial and error and a high scrap rate.
Recently though, I added a 10" cabinet saw to my shop and did the usual, OCD thing of reading a zillion reviews of miter gauges and narrowed it down to the Kreg and of course, the Incra (having tried the Osborne and didn't care for it).
I chose this because I like the ease of use, the flip stop and the easy to read gauge for dialing in precise angles. I also like Kreg products in general, so was a bit biased in their favor as the owner of a few of their other jigs.
So I've been pleased overall with no negatives really save for two, which I'll get to later.
Assembly is simple, straightforward and quick. Read the directions but still, dead easy. It took only a few minutes.
They claim the gauge is dialed in at the factory and that is true as far as I can tell. Mine was. It's also very sturdy with none of the deflection that I was concerned might be an issue based on some other reviews. But I will admit that I don't make long cuts very often.
Build quality overall is really nice and the fit and finish is the usual Kreg, that is to say, nice. However, I find that the plastic bushing between the flip stop and the end piece leaves something to be desired and leaves a bit of play that I don't like. You don't really have to account for it in your measurements, but I just don't like it on principle.
The other knock is the nylon screws used to tighten the bar so it runs in the T-slot without play. The screws SHOULD come pre-installed and I'd like to see them made of a more durable material; perhaps a hard material with a nylon head or even kevlar or something. I have little confidence that these will last over time.
Having said that, this is an excellent miter gauge that will last a long time. It is heavy, well-machined, precise, easy to read, easy to use and solid. I'd buy it again

I recommend to set the Kreg miter up very carefully. I used Lee Valley set up blocks instead of a tape measure. Use utmost care in cutting the tape correctly. The miter bar guide screws where set up as follows: ( deviation from manual)
- insert all plastic guide screws with a correct fitting screw driver
- use a stop block to set all 5 screws flush with bar
- then turn each screw exactly the same amount in small increments if bar is sloppy (think carburetor adjustment)
This procedure works best and I was able to set guide over entire lengths first time with a sweat alignment as result. Following the Kreg procedure is a hit or miss.
Next, the unit should definitively used with a 3/4" fence long enough to extend over saw blade. This way you have proper backing for small work pieces. I made several for straight and miter cuts. However I screwed the first on up as I did not allow for the plastic guides inserted in the extrusion. I recommend to measure centreline for holes with miter installed. Other Option would be if Kreg would add these dimensions to the manual to avoid these mishaps.
This miter gauge is definitively a buy. I will make my own stop attachment for mitred pieces the Kreg option is no good.
I gave it 3 stars because it is well made but alas.......
I really like the 1/4" thick aluminum plate used for the compass/dial - very sturdy.
If anything - it's a little too big for my tablesaw.
The mitre fence - when adjusted acording to the instructions does not pass under my blade guard. I will have to remove that.
The build quality is spot on.
