About the Author

Gordon Kessler is a thriller novelist, living in the Kansas City metro area with his golden retriever, Jazmin (Jazzy Brass). He's taught novel writing for several community colleges, worked over twenty years for the BNSF Railway, and is a former US Marine Recon Scout, Super Squad team leader, parachutist and troop handler. He enjoys SCUBA, sailing, snow skiing and sharing time with his kids and grandkids. His thriller novels Jezebel, Dead Reckoning, and Brainstorm are all in both paper and eBook. His latest men's action/adventure thrillers, Knight's Ransom and Knight's Late Train, were released in 2012. Four or five more in "The E Z Knight Reports" series are scheduled for release in the coming months. These novels are about half the size of his big thrillers and are fast, fun reads. Gordon's also published two short story eBooks: a humorous piece called "Toothpick for Two" and a nostalgic romance called "Jack Baron". Please check them out. Along with his fiction, he's published a book for writers, Novel Writing Made Simple; a great primer for beginners and an excellent refresher for the experienced wordsmith. He's a founder and currently president of the Kansas Writers Association, a sixteen-year-old organization of some very special people. Last year, he started a group to help support independent authors called the Indie Writers Alliance--another group of great people. A second book on writing, EBook Writing Made Simple, focuses on the actual writing of eBook novels and how they can be crafted more effectively for the eBook novel reader rather than as a work written for the traditional publishing industry.

EZ Knight reminds me of a retired Dirk Pitt from a Clive Cussler novel, that is if he ever actually retired. Loved 'Ol Corky and her candlesticks! Lots of good laugh out loud moments and some gritty then sad ones as well. Being a burn-up-the-road kinda car girl myself, I really enjoyed the Mustang and got quite upset when...well, I guess I'll leave that for the reader to discover. Only criticism - I'd like to see Jazzy more in the next one. I hated it that something happened to her!

Bring on "Knight's Big Easy", will ya?

Knight's Ransom is my first look into the world of Gordon Kessler's creativity. My only regret is that I started the EZ Knight series at Kessler's most recent effort.

That will be remedied.

Impressive technology like Tom Clancy, glib and downright funny lines in the middle of serious problems like Nelson DeMille, a memorable entourage with intriguing, memorable characters, Beautiful, Booger, Rabbit, Smokey, etc., brought back Don Winslow's Sunny Day, Hang Twelve, Dave the Love God and High Tide.

It makes for a great read which is definitely not a rehash of kidnapping stories.

It's really different, when a part of the demands for ransom is EZ Knight's life.

I particularly enjoyed the irreverence so typical of today's successful ePub novelists in weaving a tale that keeps your Kindle open and running for hours on end. As a fellow action/thriller novelist, I enjoy surprise endings.

I think I have discovered a master.

I received this book this book free from LibraryThing.com -
.talk about a great book, I loved it. It was hard to put it down once I started reading. The suspense, characters and plot were so well written. I have never read any of Gordon Kessler's books before this one but I definitely want to read more now. Many books do not keep my attention but this one kept me on the edge of my seat.

From laugh-out-loud to misty-eyed, I ran the gamut of emotions with Knight's Ransom. The guy sitting next to me on the flight probably thought I was nuts! It's gritty and dark, but warm and exciting at the same time. The characters are unusual and fun and the action is nearly nonstop. Jazzy Brass, the dog, was a fully developed character in the novel that I especially loved. It isn't often I can't put a book down, but I pretty much read it straight through. There was a surprise in every scene. You won't regret reading this one. Looking forward to the next E Z Knight novel.

Gordon Kessler's third E Z Knight novel is a cut above his two earlier Knight novels. More plot, less gonzo. Still, he is writing comic books without drawings, and telling an entertaining, if utterly unbelievable, tale with a style that makes the readin' E Z. If you want a couple hours (maybe 3, because this book is longer than the others) of pure derring-do and all but slapstick enterainment, check your rational self at the front cover and dive into the third E Z Knight adventure. At Kindle prices, it's well worth the cover price.

Knight's Ransom is an action-packed, entertaining book that you won't be able to put down. You'll be pulling for E Z Knight to win all of the battles along his journey of danger and suspense from life on his boat to the Red Carpet at the Academy Awards. I can't wait to read more about E Z's adventures.

Please get to work on the rest of the EZ Knight series! I love it and Brainstorm. Good job on both and I will for sure download the rest of them when they come.

Zoya is a Sexy Super Freak! and I love her. If she comes back in the next book and turns out to be a bad guy/girl I'm going to be mad. I can't wait to see this and Brainstorm on the screen someday.

Cecil "See-Saw" Esau, Osia Papadopoulos, Zoya, Corky, Judge Hammer, Beautiful, Jada, Mama Lo, Booger, Nurse Onion Butt (I hate "LOL" but here it is anyway LOL! Onion Butt) and the names of the boats: How do you come up with all that? I really would like to know.

Ol' Corky has got to be related to Lee Ermy, maybe an ex-wife or something?

I could feel myself in the Mustang as it chirped the tires every time EZ grabbed at another gear.

The "Booger-eater" at the Burger Bender--I know that kid! I thought that I was the only one who had to deal with him and you have one in your book. I named them the "You owe me" Generation. That part was just way so today.

The Balaclava/Baklava, Corky' s Candle sticks, Dick's Hotdogs and all of the name calling was funny as hell and put the icing on the cake like a fine dark semi-sweet chocolate ganach on a caramel devil's food cake. Mmmmm

I liked the twisting and turning suspense.

I love it!
