The KOHIPRESS was borne due to a demand in the coffee market for a portable full steep immersion pressurized press. Total immersion of the coffee grounds into water results in a rapid yet robust extraction of flavour. Until KOHIPRESS came onto the market there was no durable French Press coffee maker as all others were made from plastic.
KOHIPRESS has a Premium Stainless Steel chamber which is capable of keeping water hot or cold due to the double wall vacuum construction. The Stainless Steel body provides the durability which makes it ideal for travel.
The air pressure plunge method reduces filtering time and avoids the bitterness of a longer brewing process such as drip brewing. Because of the short brewing time, the acid level is much lower than conventional brewers.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
I was very unsure whether the coffee grounds would seep into the rest of the coffee, but after testing and testing this thing, dang I'm blown away with the design.
What makes this french press unique is after you press the screen down, all the brewed coffee seeps in and a spring-loaded plunger and screen keeps the coffee grounds out.
If I could shake the engineer's hands, I would.
The part that may break though is the top portion which is plastic. Though made of plastic the lid fits firmly and the clasp closing with a satisfying snap so you know that tasty coffee is secure. However, the opening for drinking is trapezoid shaped and a bit small, but maybe if you are fancy enough to carry around a portable french press you don't mind enjoying your coffee in small portions.
The inner tube you insert into the metal cylinder fits snugly enough for a vacuum-ish seal and the detachable mesh filter bottom completely keeps grounds out of your coffee. If you get grounds in there it's probably user error and you should get your qualification revoked. Pay attention to that MAX fill line, because it means what the hell its supposed to mean. Better make room for sugar and cream or just forgo that crap because that's for chumbuckets, or maybe your Supply Officer doesn't plan ahead for 700 people wanting coffee and you ran out in the first damn week.
Keeps your coffee nice and warm for when you forget that damn thing in your rack before watch and is a nice surprise later. And just in case it rolled behind your rack and you don't discover it until you lift your rack, refer to the sturdy metallic body. Like I said, legit.
Regardless, this product is good to go. I'll definitely buy it again when it inevitably gets stolen like everything else onboard.

Having used it for month I do have some suggestions for improvements though:
A) Make available some kind of hand grip if you want to carry it around. Having to hold the whole thing (which is actually quite heavy) is not that comfortable
B) The bottom rubber base just fell off (that should not happen)
C) It would be better if the unit could include a compartment for the coffee that you could them remove to clean/dispose of grounds. Although it comes with a long handled feeble plastic spoon, if you don't want to pour your grounds down the sink you need a separate tea strainer (I say that in another review and it was top advise). Either that or include a detachable strainer!
D) It would also be helpful if there was included a detachable cup accessory that you could attach when required. If drinking right from the flask you do need to be careful.
E) It is a bit too tall if you want to use it as a mug for shop coffee machine coffee.
F) There was something else but I cannot think of it off hand!
The above said, I am glad I bought it.
This mug feels premium, it has a rubber base allowing the product to always stand firm on flat surfaces and have yet to notice if it picks up dust. The surface of the product does not leak heat when carrying a hot beverage and had kept my coffee's near boiling temp from the time I had made it. The plunge mechanism is smooth and oddly satisfying to press down. I have had many cups of coffee made in this and with regards to sediment, this mug does a great job of separating the coffee, I have a clean coffee every time and to my surprise I have not seen any sediment.
Would highly recommend this Travel mug.
Price - Is worth for the quality.
Aesthetic - Clean, black and sleek.
Overall opinion - It's my favourite travel mug, and would highly recommend the purchase of this instead of any cheaper alternatives if you care for quality of the product and outcome of your coffee's.
Also If you buy this and get a red stirrer with it? Just throw it out. Mine has warped and cracked and flaked lots of little bits of plastic everywhere in my coffee. The stirrer is terrible quality, if you want a long spoon to stir your coffee with use anything else cause the plastic of that is awful.
This cup enables her to have a hot coffee of a great quality that she can seal the lid and leave when tiny toes is roaring his way into quiet time.
Also it's a great price so we expect to purchase another for myself so the mediocre instant coffee at work can sod off, who knows I might even become a valuable asset to the team in future months!
Unfortunately, the dream didn't last long. A few quick uses and I found it wasn't the easiest thing to drink from.
The lip is quite large and the length of the unit means you've got quite a tilt to do before you can drink from it.
Uncomfortable or even difficult to drink from
The dark interior makes it hard to see how much milk to add
no visible fill level indicator means you can overflow and end up with boiling water on you when you use it.
Keeps stuff warm... possibly too warm
No real leakage from usage.
works, if you're willing to ignore how uncomfortable it is to drink from.
