User Tip! If you are heavy, do not sit on the closed lid, it is plastic and may deform or crack. (Thus the reason I am buying a replacement seat).
About removing the old seat, what the other reviews said are true - it's a pain! I started by using an impact screw driver. One bolt came right out after a short impact action. The other one loosen a little and then did the "spin-with-the-anchor" thing. After that, I jammed a putty knife between the hinge and the toilet and did the impact thing again. The knife came loose, meaning that the bolt was loosen a little. So I jammed in one more knife, did the impact thing again, added a wedge, impact, .... After many such incremental loosening, the bolt was finally "unlocked" from the anchor. The anchors were not damaged in the process. Bolts (stainless steel) that came with the new seat worked fine with the old anchors. Before installing, I coated the new bolts with "anti-seize compound" (normally used for spark plugs) - will see how this works in 10 years.

Looks good and easy install but not very strong. Sags a little when you sit on it and got scratched by my son pretty easily. Not sure if I would buy again but serves it's purpose.Published 14 months ago by Jason Salmon

Absolutely junk. Always loose impossible to tighten. Had to use standard nuts with washers.Purchase this toilet seat only if you never plan on using it.Published 16 months ago by Patricia Lee
Very good product. I had to return the first one because it was missing hardware, but, as always, there was no problem with amazon customer service and their return policy. Read morePublished 16 months ago by Amazon Customer
