Product Features

Product Description

i10s responds to Receiver Remote AVRCP commands (Play, Pause, Next, Previous). Smallest size compared to other products made by other manufacturers in this category. Transmits stereo audio from iPods, iPhones, iPads wirelessly to compatible Bluetooth receivers. This product is BOTH Made-for-iPod and Works-With-iPhone, unlike many other iPod Bluetooth Transmitters that are only Made-for-iPod. Includes Authentication IC chip, which allows for local iPod, iPhone, iPad volume adjustment - that is not possible with other Made-for-iPod only transmitters that do not include Authenticaion IC chip. Low power consumption, for many hours of wireless audio enjoyment with iPods, iPhones and iPads. No batteries needed, powered by iPod/iPhone/iPad. No cables needed, attach to iPod/iPhone/iPad via 30-pin connector. Simple to operate. Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, Class 2. Works with iPad, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPhone (1st gen), iPod touch (1st-4th gen), iPod nano (1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th and latest 6th gen tiny iPod nano), iPod classic (80,120,160GB).
Advantages of this new Tiny i10s vs Sony's (2006) iPod Transmitter:
(1) i10s includes an Apple Authentication chip that will authenticate with iPod/iPhone/iPad. Sony iPod Transmitter does not have an Apple Authentication chip and because of this there is no local iPod/iPhone/iPad volume adjustment possible to change the volume at the remote receiver.
(2) This i10s is less than 2/3 the size of Sony's iPod Transmitter, making this a better fit for your iPod/iPhone/iPad. i10s industrial design is a better match for the elegantly designed iPods/iPhones/iPads.
(3) No buttons needed to pair and connect, just plug i10s into iPod/iPhone/iPad and it will automatically pair and connect to receiver. No button also means no additional mechanical failure mode on this i10s device.

I purchased this adapter and watchband for my IPOD nano (6th generation). I wanted an adapter that would allow me to utilize a bluetooth headset while running. I could not be happier with this product. It is very compact in size and was extremely easy to pair with my motorola bluetooth headset. The watchband holds the ipod well and is rubber so it is ideal for working out.

I am a jogger and bought this item to use bluetooth headphones when jogging. This item is just what I was looking for. There are only two things a person thinking of buying this item should be aware of. First, as noted in other reviews, the rubber/plastic material is very "spongy" or flexible and so it makes it unnecessarily difficult to put the end of the wrist strap through the buckle with one hand. The other caveat is that the use of bluetooth will greatly reduce the listening time. I have an iPod Nano 6th generation. It looks like I am getting about three hours of listening with bluetooth as opposed to ten or more hours with wired headphones. I have not experienced any dropouts.

I am very satisfied with this item.

FYI. I am using a Sony Ericsson HBH-IS800 headphones. These are earbuds and work great. No problems with them falling out as yet. An additional minor caveat is that without the wired earphones plugged in you lose all radio reception as the wired earphones act as the antenna. I have experimented with using the bluetooth headphones for listening and plugged in the wired headphones and was able to listen to radio just fine.

I bought this for my Ipod nano! and instantly loved it. The silicone strap is comfortable and easy to adjust. The bluetooth receiver works perfectly and is a large ratio! Just we aware that the iPod battery runs out empty way to fast!

Overall, LOVE IT!

The watchband is totally functional, but because it's made from a rubber material it flexes. To that end, the Nano is not completely secure; mine even fell out once. If you use a screen protector, every time it flexes -- which is not a lot, just a little -- the rubber edges (which wrap the Nano's face) slowly pick away at your screen protector, particularly in the corners. My screen protector is pulling up in at least one corner. The rubber itself feels OK when you're sweating, and airflow is acceptable as well.

Battery life is greatly diminished with the Bluetooth adapter. It's hard to say exactly since the battery icon is so small. I estimate my Nano's battery is around 50% after approximately 90 min. use. The Bluetooth adapter appears to continue to draw power when the iPod is not playing, so it must be removed when not in use.

I sometimes, but not always, have to dismiss a dialog box telling me the Bluetooth adapter is an unsupported accessory. It mostly pairs OK with my Motorola headphones, however I have had to fuss with it at least once so far when it wouldn't pair (~2 weeks use).

Otherwise, the ability to workout without wires is great.

The great: the adapter worked perfectly with the Sony Ericsson Bluetooth earbuds and my new iPod Nano. The earbuds connected very easily.

The bad: the watch band is very cheap feeling, just simple rubber. Not very impressed, though it might be okay for working out.

My recommendation: get the i10s adapter without the watch.

Update: Two stars because the iPod Bluetooth transmitter failed after not all that long. Pretty much made having BT on my little iPod impossible. I use my phone now. Oh well.

Four stars because it is still on when the iPod is off so you have to unplug it and risk losing it. Also for the additional $10 there are other options for a band, which I plan to explore if and when this one wears out.

This is a great workout accessory! Plus it makes it easy to use your iPod as a stopwatch for timing stretches or planks or rounds, which was part of my motivation for getting this package.

Also nice to be able to control volume, FF and start / stop of the audio via a bluetooth headset. I wear mine with the adapter on the elbow side of the iPod so I don't flex it when I bend my wrist.

If you want to use your iPod as a radio with this, try using a mini-phone jack to plug into the iPod say with a phone jack on the other end and wrap that around your arm. I haven't tried this but I'm pretty it will work just fine. (I don't get good radio reception at my gym.)

The watch band feels and looks a silly at first, let it mold itself and that goes away.

As for functionality, the bluetooth dongle works perfectly, and the band itself is great! The band allows adequate airflow so that it doesn't become "sticky" or uncomfortable while working out (I sweat a lot in the gym), and being able to go wireless is fantastic. The only bad thing about it, is that the dongle is not easy on the battery, so if you're going to use it more than 2 hours at a time then bring a charger.

However, once you get used to the hands free, if you have an iTouch, the bluetooth battery life is significantly more conducive to extended usage and with the proper arm band it can be just as good. Which is honestly what I've taken to doing for the sound, which is great because it allowed me to experience the Nike+iPod relationship which is another review but great by itself, and this band comes in super handy for that!
