Top customer reviews
It's pretty scratched up after just 2 months of clawing at it, which is to say it's not holding up as well as most Kong products. The plastic is very thick, enough that I don't think it will fail in the next year or so, but it's not going to last forever.
Also, it's sometimes hard to turn loose when I get it out of her food bin. I don't know if it's getting plugged with kibble dust, or gummed with slobber, or just jammed tight, but I wonder if a quarter-turn latch mechanism would be easier to work. Sometimes my wife can't feed the dog if it's stuck, so I get to be the hero, which I suppose is nice.
Finally, the sand in the bottom is only heavy enough to wobble it upright when there's less than about a half cup of kibble inside. Until then, she just rolls it with her nose and licks up the one or two kibble that fall out each rotation. I thought about putting some lead shot in the bottom, but it's really not necessary.
Biggest complaint i have is that this thing makes a ton of noise. The hard plastic on the hardwood floors or hitting the base of the cabinets or furniture makes a lot of racket. I have resorted to only giving him this toy to use on the deck outside. Also, beware that your dog will now be eating off the entire floor, this leaves a mess of crumbs and slobber to clean up.
