Does what its made to do

I liked the price, so decided to give the cardboard a try. It was easy to put together. I put scotch tape on the areas that comes in contact with skin, especially the forehead, so it won't leave any oily residue. I placed the NFC sticker on the black rectangular spot that shows a cell phone diagram. I didn't know what it was for at first, but now I realize it starts up the Cardboard app that you can download vr videos from. But after awhile that NFC sticker gets so annoying that when I inserted my phone it would always go to the Cardboard app and close out my video I was trying to play. I have a Note 5, so I went to my settings, went to NFC and Payments and turned it OFF. That helped, now I just wish you could change videos after one ends to another one without having to undo the strap, remove the rubberband, and remove the phone to start a new vr video. The rubberband is needed so the phone, which is without a case, won't fall out the side. So far, my kids and I are having fun with it, but I think after awhile, it will be put up to collect dust. But it's worth the experience until then.

Use for streeaming and 3d apps on phone

Bought these for my 13yr old and 8 yr old. Easy to put together and pretty sturdy. They have been using them now for a few weeks. My 13 yr old uses them to stream his PC gaming to his phone over the WiFi so it seems like he is playing in VR. Need to use an app (software) for this feature. Check out google for it.

The phones we have used this with are Samsung Note 3, Samsung Galaxy 3, Droid MAXX
NOTE: It says it is made for the bigger phones like the note 3, but it still hung over the edge a bit. My son jimmied a way to hold that side in the box using Velcro so that the phone didn't feel like it was going to fall out.

The good thing about this google cardboard is how affordable it was to try VR without spending a lot of money. They do the job after adjusting your phone a bit to get the best focus.

The bad thing is how delicate they are. It wasn't more than 5 minutes after receiving these glasses that when trying to collapse the glasses back, the velcro that keeps it together ripped off the cardboard. Even when trying to pull it apart carefully, it more easily rips off the cardboard. Now it won't stay together unless I just hold it together or tape it. They need to use a much less strong velcro.

One tip if you already bought these and to mitigate the problem is to put a thin piece of fabric between the velcros to lessen the grip and to more easily disassemble when done using the google cardboard.

If you want to get these just to try VR before buying the more expensive versions, this does the job. It's a disposable google cardboard.

Comes in a nice little packaging. Set up is easy following the cardboard app. I have a Google Pixel XL and this works with no problem. When done using it, fold it back up and it slides right back into the packaging it came in for easy storage.
